It's funny that they just make-up a "retro" jersey that never existed. Is this a one-time thing or their new alternate?

Yeah, I actually like it. Not aesthetically, as it's horribly ugly, but the concept and execution deserve high marks...they asked themselves "hey, what's the most ridiculous-looking 70s/80s-style jersey we can imagine?" and created it, and it fits well with the goofiness of Maddon and the Rays.

No way man, I'd buy one, love ugly retro jerseys. The Uglier the better. I'm still hopin to pick up that horrific Astro's one from years past.

I hope they bring back the Tequila Sunrise for the Astros in one way or another for their upcoming season in the AL. I think they've been rumored to get new jerseys.

The lettering (look at the R and S) are very similar to the 1970s San Diego Padres jerseys.
I know this because I own a Dave Winfield one in this style.
The way they wrote Tampa Bay a lot smaller is the same style used too

i would rock one of those Padres jerseys in a hot second. i'm a sucker for brown on yellow vintage stuff.
