This was done on a monthly basis last year, thought it would be interesting to see how people feel more than a year into the job.

My rating on September last year
I gave him a 5. He got somewhat better as the season went along, and didnt make too many huge, dumb game changing moves as he did early in the season... or maybe I stopped caring as much.

This team has/should have much higher priorities so I dont mind giving a chance to see how much he improves.

I feel like he has taken a step back this season, pretty big one actually ~ to the point where he jepardizes wins on a weekly basis, which is about as bad as it gets. He does get along with his players and helps the team maintain a positive attitude, that's his only saving grace.

Not going to go over his failures, they are glaringly obvious. I'm going to give him a 3, he is approaching getting canned territory in my books.

His bullpen management is beyond awful. x10 worse than Cito, and Cito was awful himself as well. I don't care what other things he does. His bullpen management alone should get him fired.

for a former pitcher and pitching coach, he has failed in managing the bullpen

I gave him a 6 but that is being VERY generous as frankly I haven't seen much he has done well.

He can't handle a bullpen yet made a fantastic move with the lineup, putting Lawrie and Rasmus at the top. The bullpen also factors into our lack of healthy pitchers. I will give him a 7.

I agree with this. Maybe a 6 after today's game.

I want results. Farrell has not delivered results. 1.

i didn't understand his post-game, he said he chose to bring in Pauley because he wanted a ground-ball pitcher. why the hell does it matter with 2 outs? shouldn't the priority be using the best pitcher available to get an out i.e. leave in Frasor or Perez?

he's single-handedly lost the blue jays about 6 games, and you could easily argue had a large negative impact on more than 10 total. even if we only win half of those (5 more wins = 5 less losses) it's a massive swing in the standings.

i give him a 2, simply because most of the players like him. being a pitching coach must be 95% psychology and parental because as a manager Farrell has displayed idiocy at a far more substantial rate than brilliance.

can you really load the credit on him for a move that was needed plain as day, though?

I don't see why he deserves any credit for Lawrie/Rasmus batting 1/2. He essentially threw every lineup combination on the wall until something stuck. I fail to see any brilliance in such a move. He jepardizes the outcomes of games way too often and has definitely cost us afew games, it's hard to do much worse as a baseball manager when all you should do is stay out of the way.

The one thing about Farrell is, for some unknown reason I don't despise him as much as previous managing failures and I think it has something to do with being conditioned to his stupidity on an almost nightly basis. It's gotten to the point where I don't even get mad anymore, but if you think about it it's ridiculous how many gaffes he makes. This kid needs a wakeup call.

I am more than a little disappointed in his sophomore year as Manager. Not seeing the improvement that I expected.
Bullpen management, unnecessary aggression on the basepaths, lack of execution by players, cut-off / back-up issues (players don't always seem to know their assignments out there).
I gave him a 6...

I never realized how much a manager could influence a game's outcome until watching Farrell this season. He is the absolute worst at understanding game situations and when to bring in, or leave in, certain relievers. I'm scared that he hasn't improved at all in this regard. Behind the scenes I believe he is a positive influence on this team.
