I am interested in seeing a vote of how people feel about this trade.

Win for Houston for sure. Not a big one, but still a win. This was a completely unnecessary trade.

bad to mediocre pros for mediocre prospects. unless one of our 3 prospects or happ turns into something of note its pretty meh.

Happ isn't good, i much rather take my chances on the prospects.

Indifference, other than joy that Cordero is gone forever.

Yes. Why I can't vote though I don't know.
Or did I vote without remembering. Who knows.

JA Happ has had 12 quality starts in 18 total starts. That would be the most on our roster this season.
I'd rather see him starting where he can eat up innings for us at least.
Also this could have given us the ideal role for Cecil going forward as a LH specialist out of the Bullpen. I have thought for a long time that this should be his ideal role and the numbers back it up. So there's opportunity there for us to make a couple significant roster improvements if we take advantage of it.
All that being said, it's the least impactful major trade I've seen. For a 10 player deal, you'd think there would be something more. It's really a meh thing to me.

Voted yes.
What's the worst that can happen here, 2 of the prospects make it to the majors and are mediocre at best? Even if that happens that's years away from now.
We have what we needed to get, we still have all of our top prospects and we're a better team today than we were yesterday with Cordero and Francisco gone.

We picked up a decent starting pitcher for spare parts.
Unless the PTBNL is a top prospect, I'm feeling okay about this.

a 10 player trade that did near nothing for the jays, just the fact the it accomplished nothing makes it a fail trade

Agreed. If anything both teams get something they need. Nothing earth shattering.

I think the trade itself was pretty much a wash... maybe slightly in favor of Houston because of the fairly high number of prospects Toronto gave up. I don't hold much value in any of the three guys that came over to Toronto.
So uh, despite thinking it's a wash and not liking any of the guys brought over (especially Lyon -- I dislike him ALMOST as much as Cordero), I still voted YES to liking the trade. I have no idea how those prospects will turn out but I'm not particularly high on any of them, so at the moment, I'm just happy Cordero is out and Snider is up.

I like this better than having to pay even more for Wandy, but if anything the amount of crap they had to take back while giving up the amount of prospects (no matter how lower tiered they are) should tell you how much its going to cost a decent pitcher like Garza.

we basically traded the future for present,,the prospects we traded could possibly be the same type of players as the ones we recieved just we can use them now. The difference is that one of them might turn out to be a stud but there is also that that chance that carpenter might do the same ar that happ might pick it up a few notches. So plus the fact that we got rid of CoCo i would give the trade a thumbs up
