If you're talking rumours, there's no fit for Cooper in Arizona.

Could be a fit for Colorado and to a lesser extent Tampa

Here's even more interesting tidbit. May not mean anything but...

Seatle demoted Justin Smoak their 1st baseman.

They had to make a spot for Mike Carp.

Reports coming out we're in for Hanley.

Hanley's an MVP level talent.

Escobars 2 worst years of his career are still better than the 2 most recent years from Hanley.

Hes good but nothing to give too much up for. Id rather get pitching.

I don't see Hanley at all. For one, the market is going to be very high this year. I'm sure if he's on the market AA is interested and will give it his best shot, but I can't imagine that AA's idea of value will match up with FLA's expected return for Hanley.

I think that's why he pulled on Happ when he did. The market is going through the roof for rentals, let alone longer term and he didn't want to end up doing absolutely nothing, but doesn't expect he'll get the deal he wants for anything larger. If a couple months of Dempster or Sanchez cost you a B+/A- pitching prospect, I don't see AA finding a deal he likes for a substantial piece in the next week.

Although the point of this thread does seem to point towards me being full of it. If AA pulls the trigger and gets value- the definition of value that we've become accustomed under AA, then he's truly an uber genius. If he pulls off a deal that gives a lot of us sticker shock, then I really hope it's for a true difference making pitcher.

I don't think you have you worry about us getting Hanley considering the $$ he's due to make.

As we shouldn't, he isn't worth the money or a spot on the field at the moment. He completely crashed.

Fair enough - I just hope we make a bold trade, especially if we're no more than 3 games out comes the deadline. I wouldn't mind packaging a top prospect or two if it meant getting that SP we need.

I hope we trade a few higher end prospects for a pitcher too; but I am hoping for closer to a MLB ready pitcher in the minors who is a top prospect. I would even consider trading JPA despite the fact dArnaud is injured, or even Gose. We have the bats, we need pitchers.

Did Yunel crash in ATL before AA got him? Talent level is what AA wants, and I'm sure he'll research Hanley's off-field personality/hobbies/etc. as much as he can.

Top talents out of favor with their team is what AA does.
