In fairness, Jenkins' season stats were awful at the beginning of the year, so the current numbers aren't necessarily indicative of who he is.
For some reason, I've always been intrigued by the guy. He's never had great numbers in the minors, but I always got the sense that he wasn't expected to, anyway. When he was drafted, they talked about him having a really heavy fastball (not crazy hard). It sounded like he was going to be a low K's, middle/back of the rotation, big innings eater. He might have had a tough season, but it seems like he could potentially be exactly what the jays need.

Jenkins last three starts in particular have shown considerable improvement, so the Jay might be seeing something they like.
