Thought I'd create a thread about it simply because, well, it deserves its own mention.

Everybody passes away, but this is kind of a sad way to go (at a public stadium with strangers watching, possibly with your family at your side, looking on).

By the way, I've never had an issue with Youklis, and the dude's response to the situation was classy.

I was at the game today and it was sad to watch the paramedics perform CPR on the fan...you could tell it wasn't looking good for the guy.

Wow, this is truly sad. A middle aged man could potentially have young children as well that are now without a father. I don't know what the situation is, but it truly is a perspective changer. I mean, you go to a baseball game looking to have a good time and maybe catch a win but little do you know that you won't be returning home, ever again. R.I.P.

A buddy of mine was sitting in the row right behind where this happened. Pretty effed up and he was pretty shook up.

Told me how it took forever for the paramedics to get down and security wouldn't let anyone help even if they knew CPR. I guess they have their reasons and what not, apparently he was there with his wife.

And ya, pretty classy of Youk to tell the Umpire who should have done this himself.

are you serious when you say that security let no one near the couple? i assume that it took a while before trained paramedics could get to the man. but if paramedics are performing CPR, then no one else should be in there. you let the most trained persons take care of the situation.

MLB should be ashamed of how it was handled.

A guy at work texted me that this man was a friend of his parents. His mom talked to the wife before the game and talked about how excited they were to go. The man was in his early 60's, a runner, very fit and healthy.

I don't know officially as I wasn't there, but my friend who was there said there were a few people stating they knew CPR and were willing to help but security wouldn't let anyone near until the paramedics came. He said it was 10 minutes before they showed up.

Now in those situation, time tends to be overexaggerated so I'm just going by his account. But it's a real shame if his account is accurate.
