#bluejays add SS Ryan Goins & C A.J. JIMENEZ to 40-man roster. Designate 1B Mike McDade, INF Mike McCoy and RHP Cory Wade for assignment.

Mike was taken off the 40 man roster today to avoid Goins & Jimenez going to the rule 5 draft. Maybe he sticks with the team and maybe he finds a job somewhere else.

Either way my favorite McCoy moment will always be his pitching performance. I had a soft spot for a guy that gets called up & sent down that often and can play every position for us except pitching; even if he can't hit.

"Scrappy" little white guy without much talent = fan favourite. It's been like that as long as I can remember.

What's wrong with showing some respect to a guy that played hard?

Because they all play hard and by singling him out you're implying the other guys were slacking. Where was the appreciation thread for Coco last year? He got torn apart on here (deservedly so; he stinks). It's always guys like Johnny Mac, Eckstein, McCoy... the (s)crappy little white guys that get all the love poured on them. Why is it so hard to just say a guy sucks and now he's gone? This is like Burke having a press conference about letting go of Colton Orr.

I have no good or bad feelings about Mccoy leaving (probably never would have noticed if it wasn't for this thread), but not sure why you are so riled up about this.

I'm surprised McDade is out there to be had.

Yeah, this stuck out to me more than anything, that they consider Ryan Goins worth protecting over McDade.

Jimenez was a no brainer, but Goins is a bit of a surprise.
