Windows is losing its windows

In the aftermath of last week’s State of the Franchise event I received the following tweet about the fate of Windows Restaurant– the once-swinging canteen that sits beyond the outfield fence at Rogers Centre, above the batter’s eye– which as you can see from the updated image above is being worked on in anticipation of the upcoming season.
the Jays’ president “mentioned that some $250 million in retrofits and renovations will be required in the next decade to modernize the facility,” and specifically singled out the changes to Windows.

i have a dream that, one day, i'll have a burning desire to eat something at the Rogers' Centre. and that I'll look at their beer selection in awe and say "I'll have a Great Lakes' Devil's Pale Ale...no, wait, an Amsterdam Boneshaker..."
a man can dream, can't he?

Food may get better, but you should never dream for beers like that.
Sports arenas will stay main stream likely forever.

RC grinds my gears everytime I'm in there. I haven't bought a single food item there probably in 5 years. It's so annoying when you go to the ball park and one meal and one beer costs as much as the ticket. Not to mention the fact that it's **** food and **** beer.

I'm drinking a boneshaker as i read this. I like it better than the Hawaiian style pale ale that i bought.
Big fan of Hoptical Illusion and Duggans #7 right now.
Lets take baby steps. Maybe some premium beers that aren't Corona or Heineken.
In terms of beer even the ACC isn't much better. In the Platinum Lounge you can buy bottles of wine for over $100, but they still don't have anything decent on tap.

Anyone know what the rest of the renovations will be?
Surely taking out the windows and putting something else there cant cost $250 million.

I heard that Scott Boras is representing the workers union. They actually planned to take out the windows in 1996 but he held out for a 250M payout from Rogers.

They just mentioned that it will cost around 250 million over the next decade to keep the place up to date. It was just an estimate and doesn't mean they'll end up spending that much.

He got all the kids he made hold out for big signing bonuses who's career never happened because of it a spot on this job ('cause you know how he and Beeston are like superbestfriends). They make the league minimum... per hour.

I heard that after ruining careers he has a campfire at his multi-billion dollar cottage (which involves setting the thing on fire) and roasting golden marshmallows.
We all talk about Selig but it's worth noting how terrible Boras is for baseball. He ruins entire franchises, on top of kids careers.
