The four-time All-Star and 2006 American League Most Valuable Player also had some interesting things to say about the Toronto Blue Jays as a possible destination.

“That was my favorite team growing up, so that would be very cool,” Morneau told the Web site. “If I have to leave here — where I have grown up, the only organization I’ve known — then hopefully it’s (with) a chance to win. … I would prefer it to be here, with us making the trades to add guys. But (Toronto is) one of those intriguing places, where if you win you have the whole country behind you. I grew up in Vancouver, and I was a Blue Jays fan. It’s nationwide.”

Those feelings of loyalty only figure to grow stronger when Morneau represents Canada once again in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

“It would be cool,” he added, “but like I said: I would rather win here.”

Lind could do that for less money. Like Morneau but maybe he has lost it and at that price no thanks.

isn't he a scrub now? I remember a few years ago I would have loved to have him on our team but he'll probably have that Corey Koskie effect
