With Santos somewhat struggling, why not buy low on Francisco Rodriguez (K-Rod).... he is still looking for a team and might be desperate. Yeh, he is alittle bit of a jerk i know, but AA never had any problem with thos types.

he's been a jerk over not excepting the setup role in Milwaukee at first, and in Toronto he would have a legit chance at becoming the closer.

Jose Valverde is also available but he is like Francisco Cordero last year....... K-Rod I think can challenge Janssen for the closer role, or at worst be Janssen's setup man. it would really elevate the pen.

a 1 year offer with an option for more would be great.

A healthy Janssen is better than K-Rod, and if Janssen isn't healthy the Jays have good fallback options in Santos and Delabar - heck, I'm so impressed by Loup I wouldn't be averse to giving the role to him in a pinch. And really, we can't forget about all-star AAAA closer Chad Beck!

But aside from there being good depth already, the Jays by most accounts are at their payroll limit. They don't have the funds to go out and sign a guy like K-Rod.

I can think of 3-4 guys already on the roster that I'd rather have closing games. He's just not that good anymore.
