Games
7 to 9 , which would be
4.3% to 5.6% of the baseball season, and if you're a raptors noob
around 9:36 of the 1st quarter. Monday is an off day for both teams.
We miss Verlander.
They're the defending American League champs.
Jays were 2-4 against them in 2012. 0-3 at Detroit.
Tuesday, April 9 1:08 PM SNET-1Morrow (0-0 6.0 inn 1.50 ERA 1.13 FIP 2.15 xFIP)
mlb.com wrote:Morrow was dominant in his first start of the season, but was forced to take a no-decision because of a lack of run support. Morrow allowed one run on six hits while striking out eight over six strong innings against Cleveland.
Sanchez (0-0 5.0 inn 0.00 ERA 2.59 FIP 3.82 xFIP)
mlb.com wrote:Sanchez racked up five strikeouts in as many innings against the Twins, but three walks ballooned his pitch count. He's hoping warmer weather in Detroit will give him a better grip on his pitches against a mighty Blue Jays lineup.
Wednesday, April 10 1:08 PM SNET-1Buehrle (0-0 5.1 inn 10.13 ERA 7.86 FIP 5.27 xFIP)
mlb.com wrote:Buehrle struggled during his Blue Jays debut by surrendering six runs in 5 1/3 innings vs the Indians. He walked just one batter but hit two more in the inconsistent outing. He is 18-10 with a 3.36 ERA in his career against the Tigers.
Porcello (0-1 5.1 inn 5.06 ERA 8.04 FIP 5.46 xFIP)
mlb.com wrote:The curveball that Porcello used to dominate hitters in Spring Training deserted him in Wednesday in Minnesota, where two home runs doomed him in defeat. He's hoping warmer temperatures lead to a better grip and better command.
Thursday, April 11 1:08 PM SNETJohnson (0-0 6.0 inn 4.50 ERA 4.46 FIP 4.33 xFIP)
mlb.com wrote:Johnson allowed four runs on nine hits while striking out six in his Blue Jays debut against Boston. The biggest blow came on a Mike Napoli homer, but Johnson was mostly able to pitch out of trouble when needed.
Fister(1-0 5.0 inn 5.40 ERA 6.99 FIP 4.70 xFIP)
mlb.com wrote:Fister wasn't spectacular in the home opener, but he picked up the win after allowing six hits and three earned runs against the Yankees. His control was off, walking two batters, hitting two and throwing a wild pitch.

I'm hoping I can scoot out of work hop across the border and catch one of these games. Tigers have 1 start time through most of April to combat cold weather... Although it's supposed to rain all 3 games lol

I have a severe ankle sprain so I have nothing better to do than to sit home and watch the games, only problem is finding a good stream online because of stupid Sportsnet 1.

No Verlander, no Scherzer. Can't ask for betting pitching matchups than that against Detroit (even though the pitchers they're facing are still quite good).
The bats will have to wake up at some point. Bautista's return could help with that.

Should be able to take 2/3 with Morrow/Johnson going this series.

Maybe the pressure of playing at home with all the crazy expectations was too much for our guys to handle this early, so now they'll be loose playing on the road. Right?

I'm thinking about going as well on Tuesday, there's some pretty damn good seats for under $40.
It's exam season though, so it's going to be tough to convince people to come with me...hmm...

Should be a great series! Hoping we'll take 2 out of 3 then sweep KC and finally get this season rolling!

And if you can't get a ticket, just peak over the OF wall from the street. It's pretty cool that you can be just walking down the street and literally stumble upon a baseball stadium that's built below ground level. I'm so used to seeing a giant dome from 10 miles away.

I don't know why they would schedule the jays so early in the season to play in Detroit... It's supposed to rain pretty bad the next couple days. That can be a real pain in the azz when trying to schedule a team that only goes to Detroit once

the area around, not so much.. we were literally 50/50 on whether our car would still be there after the game. i've never seen people vacate a downtown core so quickly after a ball game, it was like a ghost-town 10 mins after the game ended..
