With Reyes now out for a while, is Bonifacio now the Jays every day SS?

No; he's not a shortstop. Izturis likely takes over for the time being.

Very little chance that Bonifacio takes over SS imo. I'm guessing they'll go with Izturis with Derosa at third and call someone up as depth. Someone on TSN also mentioned the possibility of moving Bautista to third and having Rajai play the field but that seems unlikely.

Get Bonafacio out of the infield!

Surprisingly Boneface currently has more innings at shortstop in his career than second base, but he is still not particularly good at either of them. He should be in the outfield or DH.

Look for McCoy to be called up temporarily until AA works his magic on a trade.

Wilner said he'd be surprised if Lawrie isn't in the lineup by Monday.. so that would definitely help out the infield defense

I think you have to put Jose at 3rd, Izturis/McCoy at SS, DeRosa/Boni at 2nd and Davis in OF. At least until Lawrie comes back at 100%

Then again, Wilner's insight into management's personnel moves this year has been more than a little spotty.

Why would we play one of the worst 2B defensively I've ever seen at SS? If that happens, the team has more serious problems than just Reyes' injury.

Izturis is the best SS on this roster now.

one more bunt attempt and Gibby has to be fired on the spot before the next batter!

He is not a major league player. He has already cost Blue jays couple games early in the season sooner jays get rid of him the better.

Too bad blue jays cheapened out on role players and coaches. Bonaficio is not a major league player atleast not as a starter

Still waiting to see if the Jays have figured out that he's terrible. The benching today is a good sign, but the fact that they're losing bad might mean he'll be back in tomorrow.

Too much hate for this guy. He's one of the lower rung players. We're losing not just because of injuries to Reyes and Bautista, but because the rest of our "core" isn't doing much.

Its true, but the blame is on the entire line up in terms of hitting.

But when it comes to defense, Bonifacio has definitely stuck out from the rest of them. Out of everyone, he is playing terribly both offensively and defensively. As bad as Rasmus is hitting, he has been pretty amazing in the outfield.
