Josh Johnson goes on DL; Romero to start Friday

.@BlueJays have placed RHP JOSH JOHNSON on DL with right triceps inflammation. RHP BRAD LINCOLN has been recalled from @BuffaloBisons (AAA)

In Johnson’s absence, LHP RICKY ROMERO is scheduled to make the start on Friday, May 3 vs. the #Mariners.

Knowing Johnson's injury history, it may not be a short stint.

Why not just skip Johnson's/Romero's start and go with Dickey?

I guess Dickey needs the extra two days rest??

Dickey has his own injury issues with his neck and back.

He was still slated to pitch Friday. I guess we'll find out tomorrow if he'll be pitching Saturday.

The injuries to the starting staff are coming now and we're 10-18...

He wasn't, but I'd much rather have him in there than Romero or another spot starter. We knew the injuries were coming, but this is why a good start in April was necessary. This is the stretch where you hope to just play .500 ball and then make a late season push. We're going to have to overcome our injuries now and play .600 ball. It's going to be a very long summer.

Calling up Romero after one class-A start is an idiotic move. After some of his recent trades and now a growing history of horrible roster management, I'm rapidly losing confidence in AA.
