John Lott ‏@LottOnBaseball
All sorts of optimism from Santos, Drabek, Hutchison and McGowan, who visited clubhouse today after daily workouts in Dunedin. No setbacks.

McGowan also expects to start rehab assignment w/ Dunedin next week. Has started using the Delabar heavy-ball program. "It’s been awesome.”

McGowan says heavy-ball program aids in his next-day recovery. Pitched yesterday, today "no soreness whatsoever."

Santos: "We’re going to find out one way or the other… I don’t want to waste any more time. I want to get healthy. We’re going to push it."

Santos hopes to start rehab assignment next week for Dunedin. Still has a little triceps discomfort. Says it's "manageable."

Gregor Chisholm ‏@gregorMLB
McGowan-much like Janssen-isn't concerned about velocity. It's more about using the program to build shoulder strength, prevent injuries.

Shi Davidi ‏@ShiDavidi
Drew Hutchison to throw live BP in three weeks. Kyle Drabek to start BP next week or week after. Both happy with progress

Gregor Chisholm
Drabek and Hutchison on very similar schedules. Both throwing bullpens, likely to get into extended spring game in approximately 3 weeks.

Sergio Santos says he's thrown 3 bullpens, expects to pitch in game Thursday. Still feels triceps issue a but, but is strong enough to pitch

I'll believe in Santos and McGowan when I see them last 2 months without getting injured.

Good news, I suppose. Unusual for this franchise.

If they were all healthy right now and ready to pitch tomorrow, where would they pitch?

That''s a good one. For a couple of months, they could certainly push out a few of the older starters at NH and BUF. And you have Stroman coming in late May as a starter.

Buffalo will have some good pitching down there around August. It will be tough finding them a spot with us this year though.

Have not heard anything on Perez yet , any news on him?

He's supposed to be the most advanced, but these updates occured because the players involved visited the team. I guess Perez was elsewhere

Heres something I found on Perez.

Blue Jays pitcher Luis Perez, on the disabled list rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, is expected to throw in an extended spring training game later in the week, MLB.com reports Monday. Perez has been throwing bullpens but has not pitched in a game.

I completely forgot about Luis Perez.

Poor McGowan is never going to pitch for us ever again. Every spring I hear optimism, then silence, then a few months later learn that he's been rehabbing an injury. That's happened like 4 straight years now.

I don't like that Santos still feels triceps discomfort. Doubt he'll make more than a few appearances before heading back to the DL. Wouldn't be surprised if JJ follows same path as Santos with his triceps problem. Starts out sounding minor, then it turns out he's missing a month minimum.
