Santos having more surgery - out 4-6 weeks

The elbow this time, a bit of a debris clean out. Hope he is getting the Dustin McGowan bulk rate, or frequent surgery points.

Maybe this will give him a push to get healthy. Marcus Stroman looks ready to shoot up the organizational ladder.

AA said @MStrooo7 active Sunday and begin as starter at A-Dunedin 1-2 starts and then AA-New Hampshire. Staff saw him said looked great.

Was going to post a separate thread on Stroman. I'm interested to see this kid go. He's hungry and clearly has the stuff to play in the big leagues already. Would be nice if the Jays got some unexpected surprises this season in a good way rather then the opposite we've been used to all season(s).

My feeling, too. He could be special, but it will be interesting to see his role. Is he destined to be a closer/8th inning type - making Delabar in particular redundant. Or a long reliever, say the two inning guy we probably need (since Loup and Cecil are left handers). That pushes out Lincoln. Could he be a spot starter, too? He's going to be an intriguing storyline.

Well, this was certainly expected. I expect the same with Johnson. "Triceps soreness" is the new upper-body injury.

I was really looking forward to seeing Santos perform as a one/two- inning lockdown arm. This bullpen needs quality reinforcements, fast.

Totally expected, as I said before, he's damaged goods.

Might as well move him or release him and move on. We can't rely on him for anything.

Less Rogers and Lincoln would be great, but they're low leverage guys anyway.

Janssen has been outstanding. No doubt. The trio of lefties have been good in spot innings as well. But I think Delabar exemplifies my concern. I know I'm not comfortable with him holding a lead nor any other pitcher besides Janssen. Rogers and Lincoln are crappier versions of Delbar. A power righty that can hold a lead through 7th and 8th would really solidify the bullpen. I'm hoping Delbar can get some more command of his pitches. Too many walks/hits/base runners for my liking.

One of Lincoln and Rogers needs to go. A power arm is someone like Neil Wagner. Hit 101MPH (sitting 98-100) at AAA and has nasty numbers this year

Might as well keep him. He still has a high ceiling as a reliever and it barely cost us anything to get him for the white sox( now we know why)
