Happ: 7 starts, 2-2, 4.91ERA, 4.49FIP
Johnson: 4 starts, 0-1, 6.86ERA, 4.64FIP
Ortiz: 3 starts, 1-2, 3.77ERA, 6.13FIP (not counting his stats as a reliever)
Jenkins: 2 starts, 1-0, 3.60ERA, 4.76FIP
Romero: 2 starts, 0-2, 12.46ERA, 8.37FIP
Laffey: 1 start, 0-0, 6.75ERA, 8.69FIP
Nolin: 1 start, 0-1, 40.50ERA, 15.06FIP

Total: 52 starts, 12-20, 5.52ERA, 5.13FIP

Depressing, especially now that the offence has started to hit.

Buehrle has actually been really good lately (last 4 starts) and seems to be rounding into form. He'll probably finish the season with his typical numbers in terms of ERA and IP.

Dickey save the last Baltimore game had been better as well, so here's hoping the back/neck issues are subsiding.

The rest of them have been brutal. Morrow can't get into a groove. Johnson was pedestrian at best and Happster is what he is.

The numbers are depressing but can they really get worse?

They can and will if Morrow and Johnson get injured again this season. Unless there's a complete 180 in terms of starting pitching, this team will be spinning its tires the rest of the season.

especially hard to figure since the top two ERA's are from Jenkins (with 5 decisions for his whole Major League career) and a guy who can't last on the roster longer than a few games (Ortiz). yikes!

and to put it into further perspective I believe Dickey should basically go undefeated the rest of the year to have the kind of year many were expecting out of him by calling him our "bonifide ace" since day one of the trade.

Buehrle and Morrow take the mound and you just hope the offence is clicking otherwise it will be over before the 5th.

Johnson is = to Romero IMO ... do not want him resigned for a ridiculous contract guys with good arms seem to get in free agency no matter how many games they lose going in.

Happ will return to the mound for that infamous should I say phantom Jay's summer "wild card push" on one leg and half a brain but perhaps he forgot how to walk people though?

In 2012, the Jays had a starting pitching FIP of 4.91 (3rd worst in baseball). So far this year, the Jays have a starting pitching FIP of 5.13 (2nd worst in baseball). Who called that one?

dickey and buerhle can and probably will improve and will carry us the rest of way, jj is back next week and him and morrow just gotta be average 4-4.5 era...the pen needs to be strong, wouldnt mind some moves there or another starter...once reyes back the offense is fine...aa needs to get working
