No Arencibia. YES!!

I'm growing to hate his lack of discipline at the plate. Not a fan of his season so far.

I was also happy to see Arencibia is not playing though I was not impressed by Thole either.

Yeah, Thole certainly does not come with a defensive reputation.
And while he looks like he may frame pitches better than Arencibia, his throws to second were brutal.
And he was setting up far too much on the corners for Johnson, even when it was clear that Johnson was not particularly sharp.

One game sure, but the metrics don't really support Thole adding much value defensively either.

It was Thole's first big league game of the year, and though not great, he's already achieved 20% of Arencibia' walk total to date.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

According to the score, Hale is the acting manager for tonights game because Gibbons is attending his son's graduation.

Maybe Jose needed that ejection to get him out of the slump

Looked like Bonifacio just grabbed De Aza's junk at second base? :)

Or, you know, maybe Jose is just a tremendous hitter and was bound to hit one out sooner rather than later.

Gosh, If Bonifacio was actually a good bunter he would have some many hits with his speed and getting a head start from the left side.

If Lawire and Reyes were out there we would have been out of this already....our defense is turrrrrible.

Dickey should have 130 pitch limit tonight with the way our bullpen has been worked.

it would be real easy to start complaining about dickey here, giving up runs early in a game again, but how many of those hits were grounders that found holes our range-less infielders simply could not get to? like 4 of them? f'n brutal BABIP luck, one of the worst innings in that regard this season imo.

Some pitchers are better for the NL. Dickey and Johnson have shown that this year.

ok now we can complain about dickey servin' up juicy beachballs again, though the thick fog might have something to do with the lack of movement on the knuckler this time around
