I'm guessing on the Jays is Kawasaki? Very patient hitter and has a decent OBP

I just looked up the answer for the Blue Jays, definitely not who I'd expected.

Ah thanks, was wondering where to find the stats. The number was lower than I expected.

After you said this I changed my answer and got it correct. If you think about it, it's not that far-fetched (for guys that actually qualify).

You'd think there would be a stronger correlation between seeing more pitches and drawing walks. I haven't done the math on it obviously, but some of the names up near the top are quite baffling (JPA is 26th in the league :-? ).

JP shouldn't be surprising; after all, you can't strike out on fewer that three pitches, so he has a high P/PA floor. Same with Rasmus.

They need to provide a stat where if you get on base, the average pitch count is added to the pitch count for your plate appearance.

So if your OBP is .500, and the average pitch count is 4, then you add 4 to your pitch count, so it becomes 8, let's say.

That would lower the value of players who have high pitch counts, but don't get on base often.

but having those types of players is still better than having the routine slap happy quick out. the opposing starters pitch count still get affected with long at bats.
