You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to his Grady Little moment.

Breaking News!!!!!!

Josh Johnson has been put on the DL. That minor forearm soreness has morphed into contract eating disease. Thad Weber being recalled, but he's supposed to pitch tonight at BUF (unless he's a late scratch, which would mean we will use Buffalo pitchers tonight and tomorrow). Gold help the Bison, although they manage to bumble through.

And says Gibbons, Colby Rasmus may play tomorrow, or he may go on the DL.

(Do you get the impression that the medical staff of the Jays is improvising as it goes along?)

I think it's just that time of the year where everyone's nagging injuries will land them on the DL. The weather has been foreshadowing this all summer - September arriving early.

Surely there can be no more sorrier #8-9 combo in all of baseball.

Also, Redmond is our best starter.

It's pretty obvious that Brett Lawrie has stolen the mojo from every other guy in the lineup.

It's really great to have Lawrie swinging the bat well again. Love the 5 man core we have to build around for next season. The other 4 guys just have to not be Izturis/Bonafacio/Arencibia level atrocious.

This season would be so much more tolerable if I didn't have to watch JPK and Boni hack away on a regular basis. They play terrible baseball. Where is the accountability?

Lawrie's bounce back to reasonable form is one of the few bright spots in recent weeks in terms of hope for next season. Rasmus would be the other, but still a huge amount of work with the starters, 2B, LF and C.

That ball was hit way too hard to send Reyes home there.

It always seems like only one guy at a time is allowed to get hot. I guess it's Lawrie's turn now. If we had any semblance of starting pitching, I'd be more optimistic of having a Dodger-like season in 2014, but they also have the best pitcher in baseball leading the rotation while we have Mark Buehrle.

Accountability was included as a PTBNL in the Lincoln trade.

Izturis has -2.2 WAR this season. It's the 4th worst cumulative total in the franchise's history. I don't feel it gets acknowledged enough just how bad this guy has been.

I'm just baffled by the complete disappearance of his range. Had he lost a leg, sure, it would make sense for an average-or-better fielder to suddenly be this bad. And it doesn't seem to be fun with one-year UZR samples, either...he looks as bad as the numbers suggest he has been.

The turf hasn't helped him for sure. Has never looked comfortable moving on it at all. If he keeps playing out the duration of his contract as a Jay like this, there's a very good chance he could end up being the worst Jay cumulatively of all time. Only -1 WAR away now from the great Alfredo Griffin.
