Jays Mantra: There's Always Next Year -'14 Schedule Released

Post#1 » by Santoki » Tue Sep 10, 2013 5:29 pm

At first glance, things get a bit tough heading towards the all-star break and the 2nd half is pretty brutal.

This season isn't even over yet and the excuses are starting already for next year. Last time I checked everyone else in our division plays the same teams. And I thought the schedule crutch was a Raptor thing.

It's pretty much brutal every year, but that's life in the AL East. We also happened to be matched up with the NL Central next year, so that doesn't exactly help.

The schedule is a bit softer to open the year, so hopefully they take advantage of that because it's going to get particularly ugly after the all-star break.

Should be interesting to see what this team does this winter. We do have a tougher schedule (than this year) and this team clearly isn't close to winning anything.

Boooo we don't play the Cubs in Wrigley Field. It's a bucket list thing to see the Jays
play in Wrigley for me and I think we've been there once and the Cubs have been
here like 3 or 4 times now but I could be wrong.

Starting the season with a four game series in Tampa?

Damn, somebody hates us.

Not nearly as bad as some posters would have you believe. Is anyone expecting a schedule without a ton of games against Baltimore, Tampa, Boston and the Yankees??

Uhh looks like every other year I can ever remember.

Why do bad teams always have tough schedules/less winnable games?

Yup, we've already hard-boiled the excuses for next year, so I guess there's no point arguing against it, you can take a season off 'cause we won't hear anything about why the Jays weren't successful in 2014, it was/will be all about the schedule. Glad we worked that out.

Fingers crossed for 2015?

I'm pretty sure everyone understands the Jays schedule is always going to be difficult. It's the matchup with the NL division and the timing of certain series that sway it from "stupidly difficult" to "unfathomably difficult". 2014's fall somewhere in between those two categories.

that schedule will have us out by end of April at the latest, but that may be 4 weeks later than reality

Why are so many of the other teams good? It's not fair. MLB must hate Canada.
