Apparently Ervin Santana wants 5 years, $100 million. What kind of world do we live in....

As long as the Dodgers exist, never say never.

This probably isn't even newsworthy, but former Jays pitcher Tomo Ohka is attempting a return to the majors RA Dickey-style, converting to knuckleballer. He's 38. http://beta.thescore.com/mlb/news/347655

Pretty safe to say the red birds will get the SS they need in either Tulo or Andrus and Shelby Miller will most likely be involved in a package deal.

Disappointed that we didn't give him a shot in the bullpen this past year, as he was fantastic in the minors.

I know at least one guy on battersbox.ca was anticipating his arrival in the majors the way fans were for the Terminator in the late 80s. This did come as a shock. Did he not have ANY trade value?

Given that he'll be 27 in March (and he got lit up in 2012 because **** Las Vegas) he likely didn't have a tonne of trade value. He could easily break camp with the Mets in a significant role, though...there are spots up for grabs i their 'pen, and they're always happy to have another player making $500k a year.

Really upsets me how the Jays failed to utilize his potential, dominated out of the bullpen in 2011 then they turned him into a mediocre at best starter then he just stopped being good. Should've just let him develop as a good reliever.

Carreno was mismanaged, but we have such a deep pen situation it would be hard to justify keeping him on the 40 man roster. He'd have to be out some guys with comparable talent.

As the White Sox look to rebound from their 99-win season, everyone is available on the trade block. Well, almost everyone. Avisail Garcia, Chris Sale, Jose Quintana, and the newly-acquired Jose Dariel Abreu are off limits, executives told Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com.

I was hoping AA would sneak in and unexpectedly trade for a guy like Sale.

Really hope the Jays are at least trying to offer up their relief arms for Porcello.

The Rangers are pushing hard for free agent catcher Brian McCann, a baseball source tells Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com.
