Jack Morris Leaves For Twins Radio

Was never a fan of Jack's , so this doesn't bother me like when Dirk or Ashby left town.

"And Blue Jay fans rejoiced!"
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

he got better as the season went on, but his analysis was quite expendable and he trailed off in far too many of his sentences for this to be a noteworthy loss to the broadcast team

It means more Wilner, which is a bad thing, but Jack was pretty terrible overall.

Didn't he jump ship from Minny last year? man that was fast. I also don't understand the
Jack Morris hate although I haven't listened to a radio broadcast in 20 years. When he
filled in on TV I didn't mind him though.

Looks like Dirk Hayhurst is gone from the radio crew.

Yeah that must be it, and FYI the Blue Jays don't employ Jack Morris or any other broadcasters

I still can't forgive him for that blowout loss in the 92 series (for which some people - not me! - paid $1,000 for a pair of tix). So no tears.

Technically, yes, but I mean it's all the same company really. They're fairly intertwined...

I thought he fell asleep at times during broadcasts. He also would sound like a hard ass much of the time and didn't have much personality.

his voice was not meant for radio.
he sounded like a drunk old man rambling on his porch.
on occasion, he'd share some excellent nuggets about the locker room, etc. But a guy like Ashby had a much greater ability to tell a tale, be funny and be relevant.

not going to miss Old Man Morris.

better question, though: broadcasting a game on the radio (not just baseball). how great are the ratings, how much of a need is there anymore?

I am guessing Wilner will replace Morris on the radio with perhaps Jose Cruz Jr filling in the Dirk Hayhurst role on TV
