'Soft' isn't really the problem; most pitchers will be shut down for the same issues. What makes Johnson unreliable is that something in his mechanics strains his arm, and consequently has led to a slew of forearm, elbow and shoulder injuries, the likes of which cannot be pitched through.
Unfortunately, that's worse; those genuine injuries need rest, or they need surgery, and they tend to snowball...when tendons and ligaments cease working properly, to the extent that they need repair, it's unlikely that a pitcher will ever regain full health. And that's why some didn't like QOing Johnson; his injury history is so lengthy that it's clear that his mechanics have caused real damage, and the cumulative effect of that is that it's increasingly unlikely that he'll ever throw 200 IP without breaking down again.

I agree his injury may be genuine but i still think he's soft in the way he trains and deals with injuries. But I'm a JJ hater. God given talent and no work ethic in my opinion.

Have absolutely no idea how you could know a thing like that.

Word gets around among people in the organization. JJ had the rep of someone who didn't want to put the extra work in to get to where he needed to be. But why would you when teams are going to just hand you millions to spend time on the DL.

You work/have contacts with people in the Jays organization?

Yes...and MLSE as well.
