We did, but he's injured right now. Not sure when he'll be back and where he will go. Based on the Juan Francisco signing though, McDade may be heading back to NH.

Bit surprised he was pulled after four.

He should be stretched out beyond 75 pitches. And it's not as if he was being shelled, since all four hits were singles, three on the ground.

Also surprising that Hendriks replaced him (Maybe Jenkins is in the rotation after all ?)

edit... according to Ben Wagner, Stroman was on an 80 pitch limit today and it was planned to have him piggy back with Hendriks today.

Bison win 6-3. Besides the Stroman line discussed already, Gose was 2-4, but caught stealing AND picked off. In the bullpen, Stilson had some control problems in the eighth, gave up a hit, two walks and an earned run, but Neil Wagner mopped up nicely, coming in with two outs in the eighth and striking out three of the four batters he faced over 1.1 innings to get the save.

The pick-off/caught stealing was one event... But yeah, you know minor league baseball is back when you see Gose picked off in the box score.

Nice start by Matt Boyd down in Dunedin tonight went 7 scoreless giving up 5 hits, no walks and struck out 5.

Here's what Chris King has had to say about his outing

Chris King ‏@StatsKing 2h
#BlueJays Matt Boyd 90-91 in the first; All fastballs; high leg kick; and herky jerky delivery; locating well.

Chris King ‏@StatsKing 1h
#BlueJays Matt Boyd is through 3. Mixing in some changeups that has the hitters off balance. Only 2 hits against both singles.

Chris King ‏@StatsKing 1h
Matt Boyd worked out of a 2 on 0 out situation with a K on his best CB of the game & rolled a 6-4-3 DP. 4 IP 0 runs 4 hits 2 K's. #BlueJays

Chris King ‏@StatsKing 59m
Another quick inning for Matt Boyd. CB is getting better as the game goes on. Lefties are having a rough time with it. #BlueJays

Chris King ‏@StatsKing 44m
Matt Boyd is through 6. Shutout still intact. Gave up his 5th hit on a bloop to center. Maybe 2 hard hit balls all game. #BlueJays

Chris King ‏@StatsKing 26m
Matt Boyd is getting stronger in the 7th. FB command is the best it's been all game. Moving it to both corners with his CB getting sharper.

Sanchez one hit shutout through five, nice offence by Kenny wilson, 2-3 with a triple, driving in three runs. NH cruising so far. Game not over, but they stopped Sanchez after after five innings (67 pitches).

Welp, I've skipped straight past being excited about Sanchez to being flat-out aroused.

Was listening to the Fisher Cats broadcast for the first couple of innings.

Sounded like he was really on. Got Gary Sanchez on three pitches in the second, a 98mph heater, a 90 mph change and a 82 mph curve.

He's easily passed Stroman (whom I always had second anyway) for #1 in the system. The stuff is starting to materialize into real pitching ability. Plus body...two plus to plus-plus pitches...changeup that has legitimate plus upside as well. He's a freak.

Just...please stay healthy. Please let that control hold.

Also, the 1s comp round from 2010 is increasingly insane. Sanchez, Syndergaard and Taijuan Walker -- three of the best pitching prospects in baseball -- were drafted within about fifteen minutes, with a handful of other solid-to-good prospects interspersed.

Since we can't use "Sanchize", for obvious Jets related reasons, what nickname should we be using?

If he can put together a strong ~75-100 innings with improved control at AA, I wouldn't be against bringing Sanchez up as early as this season.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Until he shows fastball command I will keep my expectations tempered.
