Against good pitching, certainly. It's more something worth noting as the season progresses because they're winning almost every close game...again, something they've managed to achieve before, but something that a large body of work suggests isn't really possible.

Baltimore's been a pretty good team for coming up on three seasons now. Can we just admit it might be more than luck? They'll probably win the East unless Tampa continues on a Dodgersesque run here.

Historically, even really good teams don't win such a high % of 1 run games. Baltimore is an outlier.

That might be the case but we've been saying that for nearly three seasons and that they're a .500 team who will regress. I'm not confident that's going to happen any time soon. If anything, it's the Jays that are the mediocre team and at this point I'll be thrilled to have a chance at a 1-game playoff with the Angels.

Peavy's been traded to the Giants. Not a great tenure in Beantown despite the ring. He wasn't as bad as his record, but a middling 4th-5th at the very best.

What the hell did Morales just do on that? Even when they're getting hits with RISP, they're still squandering.

Hoping for a Red Sox win tonight, which feels wrong. The Rays are coming on strong.

The Orioles actually lose a one run game while the Jays win a game at Yankee Stadium.

Yeah, that whole sequence was Peak Rodney. Walks the guy, then is so fixated on home that he doesn't realize that the runner is breaking until the catcher stands up and points, culminating with his shooting the arrow at Lough. All ballgames should end that way.

The Rays win again. They are now 6.5 back of Baltimore and 3.5 back of the 2nd WC.

It's gotten to the point where I think the Rays might actually win the division. They are the best team in the division but just got off to a horrendous start. It might only be a matter of time for them. The East is not going to be easy, and neither will the 2nd WC.

Their only enemy is time. I really hope they hit a losing streak of 4-5 games. After they're finished taking the Red Sox lunch money they've got the 3 best teams in the majors (Brewers, Angels at home and A's on the road). Hopefully, they hit a rough patch, we keep winning and take care of business in the 9 games we play against them the rest of the way.
