If Whitley starts both games, I like our chances in game 3.

(You need Phelps' photo in the third spot)

I like the matchups, think we'll get 2 out of 3, think Stroman is capable of matching up with Tanaka and giving the Jays 6-7 great innings, hopefully will be able to over power the Yankees lineup.

The whole Hutch home/road ERA is just a coincidence. It will even out over the year, I am sure.

stroman is capable yes but are the bluejays bats capable against tanaka? and will stroman bounce back? It's really a wildcard.

We are not winning Game 1 against Tanaka.
2 out of 3 would be nice.

Just like the Heat and the Pacers, Tanaka is not unbeatable.

Kawasaki being recalled, presumably to replace Cecil or Lind who would DL.
Also this: I don't wish for opponents to have injuries, but the O's will miss this guy

I wonder if the Jays go with a Kawasaki/Tolleson platoon at 2B with Francisco at 1B/DH until Lind gets back. It would have been tough to have Gose and Kawasaki in the lineup together, but with Rasmus presumably back (or is he?), they can afford to have a weaker hitter in the #9 spot.

This series worries me a little bit.

Unfortunately, that call up sounds like a Lind DL trip is in order to me. A Kawasaki/Tolleson platoon with Fat Juan at DH until his return would make sense.

I've been calling for this for so long. Japanese stars are gold mines, you see all those Japanese ads behind homeplate. Rogers broadcast feed rights to Japanese channels. The Japanese media following from spring training and throughout the season. Overseas merchandise, the list goes on. And the best part, dont have to sacrifice the farm in trade.

In years past it would have meant added revenue and the cynic in me thinks that this would have pushed the team from a have not to have and thereby lose out on those equalization payments. But if that's true, the team is no longer a have not, so here is to hoping that we get some Japanese stars not named Munenori...
