Not surprised at all. If I were him I'd be pissed.

I feel bad for him, and when he leaves us after his contract expires for a team like the Yankees or something, I won't be surprised or pissed (at him).

Good on JoeyBats!

It doesn't look good when the face of the franchise speaks out like this.

If they struggle down the stretch and don't make the playoffs, I can see Bautista quietly requesting a trade. He's always been the one to show disappointment in the lack of activity.

wasn't expecting a massive deal, and pretty glad we still have sanchez, norris, etc. but i'm disappointed we couldn't at least shore up the bullpen

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Shots fired at AA or at the real culprit Rogers?
That's what she said.

Good. At least somebody publicly has the balls to say something (and this is directed at ownership without question). Everyone already knows about the embarrassing Santana situation.

Bautista saying this increases the pressure on ownership to spend on even a minor deal in August, though I'm not sure by what degree.

They may have soured on AA to the point of tying his hands but surely they don't want a pissed-off star.

Yeah that was the only thing I was realistically expecting given our lack of depth of AA/AAA prospects and Sanchez/Stroman being off the table. Andrew Miller was the only good reliever traded and he cost the no.68 prospect in all of baseball heading into 2014.

It should be on Rogers. This works out almost too well for them if people actually blame AA.

Yep, they would love the fans to be that oblivious. They're banking on it really.

I think a lot of fans are giving AA a free pass still... He can always make trades that can benefit
the team without adding salary.

Of course it should be Rogers, but it never works out that way. Unless of course Bautista had the balls to call out the whole company.

Hard to do though while they pay you millions to hit a small white ball.

I expect Janssen to say something, too. It's important to bear in mind that Jays are getting Bau, Edwin and Melky at a discount, relative to performance. That gives them the right to complain if the organization cheaps out on moves. I really can't wait to hear how AA says he couldn't top the Tigers' offer for Price.

That's what the Valencia trade was. A salary neutral move (which was the only kind he could make).

I share his sentiments. I was looking at purchasing a package, but not if we arent going to act like a team who cares. Rogers has deeper pockets than all but a few teams. Any non-spending is a wholly internal decision and has nothing to do with revenue or viability.

Ya and I was hoping for another or similar type of deal or hoping for a deal with slightly better caliber
of players. Never expected Lester or Price or anything like that.

Of course Blair says it isnt money thats the issue, but more of a lack of prospect depth.
