**** the asstros.

(because they currently have a better record than us and a bunch of really good young players and i'm bitter about it and still hope that they end up losing 100 games because that's what i'm used to)

i'll be happy with a split here

I like their pitching better than ours, but our beards are better.

Losing the little faith that I had in this pitching staff. Hope they can prove me wrong.

I think i'd rather give Bautista a day off to promote faster healing with Martin at DH. Does Gibbons even know that you can DH catchers? I can completely agree with keeping his catching load at around 120 games but there's no reason he shouldn't be DH'ing another 25-30 games. Good offensive catchers like Posey and McCann are playing tons of games at 1B to get their bat into the lineup and we have the luxury of a DH spot that is completely open which Gibbons refuses to use with Martin.

Yet another way having Bautista monopolizing DH hurts the team overall.

but Martin wasn't DH'ing before Baustista got hurt either and just the other day when Bautista had the day off and Martin wasn't catching he sat on the bench instead of DH'ing.

Its another one of those things Gibbons does that makes no sense

So now Gibbons is catching flak for starting a superior hitter (and also the team's best) over an inferior hitter at DH. The guy can't win.

Might as well get him some rest, the Jays don't have a day off until May 28th. Pinch hit him in high leverage spot if needed.

I would imagine so. I don't know if you were watching the Jays in 2006, but he started Zaun/Molina a combined total of 30 times at DH that season (and also got a lot of criticism for it from those worried about what would happen if one of them got hurt).

Or our backup catcher named Navarro that DH'd several times in April until he got a cramp that lasted for 3 weeks.

I don't like having that scrub Pillar hitting 5th.

The Jays signed Luke Scott?

Isn't he a massive d-bag?

Yes, but he's a massive d-bag with a career 121 wRC+ vs righties on a team forced to start Carrera and Colabello. It's worth it to see if he has anything left.

Can't speak for Night's King, but the point I'm making is that having Jose at DH hurts the team overall. That doesn't mean he shouldn't be playing there (he should), just that it would make the team better if he were back at RF and we could cycle average to above-average hitters through DH instead of parading the Carrera's and Tolleson's of the world out there.
