So the team with the league best ERA is going to face the team with MLB-worst ERA. Augers well.

More tickets available for Victoria Day than I thought there would be. No problem yesterday getting 7 tix together in the lower part of the upper bowl near first base.

Jays tix are great value. Even with service fees, you get solid seats for $16.25.

Despite being terrible, Sanchez actually matches up well with the Angels. They can only start a maximum of 4 lefties with their current roster (Calhoun, Joyce, Aybar, Krauss). If he can't pitch well against this team with all its righties (Trout, Pujols, Iannetta, Giavotella, Freese), he won't be able to pitch well against anybody.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

About three weeks too late, but at least AA finally came to his senses.

Redmond is a good choice. He got run out of town after four innings of bad ball, despite having 150 quality innings under his belt the last two seasons. Unless he's totally forgotten how to pitch or he's injured, he should go back to being steady but not spectacular self.

The bullpen is finally starting to look better. I'd be using Osuna as the closer right now, with Cecil and Tepera in set-up roles. Redmond will be the primary long man, with Hendriks the secondary guy we unfortunately very much need with this starting staff. Otherwise Hendriks could prove useful in a set-up role.

So apparently Redmond is starting today, and the starters get pushed back 1 day.
Found out just as I was about to take the under 11.0, the bookies took all the lines off the board

Weird. Here is todays lineup,

1. Josh Donaldson (R) 3B
2. Jose Bautista (R) DH
3. Edwin Encarnacion (R) 1B
4. Russell Martin (R) C
5. Danny Valencia (R) LF
6. Chris Colabello (R) RF
7. Kevin Pillar (R) CF
8. Steve Tolleson (R) 2B
9. Ryan Goins (L) SS

Today certainly looks like a throw-away, not that the Jays can afford one.

Our starting rotation is in a shambles and our best current outfielder is Chris Colabello. Pretty much every game is a throwaway at this point. Things are dire.

I mean what is the goal here? Everyone and their mother knows we can't make the playoffs with this pitching staff so either trade for better pitchers or scrap the whole thing. What are we doing here? Does AA actually think these pitchers are good enough? I mean what the ****.

Not only that, but Bautista is still playing everyday at DH despite his shoulder being banged up and the team losing even with his presence in the lineup. People are assuming that trading Bautista and Edwin will be easy in the off-season, but not if they require shoulder surgery or re-aggravate a back injury due to a manager/GM looking to save their jobs.

I've never seen a management team disregard prospect development and player health this much in such a short period of time. I'm already ready for the season to end and the housecleaning in upper management to begin.

I know they're saying that it's just to give the starters a day of rest, but the real reason Redmond is starting is to see whether he can take Sanchez's spot in the rotation, right?

Why do you think Jose sitting would somehow make his shoulder heal faster? Do you know something about his injury we don't?
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

cj wilson has a minor wedgie and it's bothersome. someone tell him to pick it, almost looks like he's wearing a thong for chrissakes.

*edit - or just get on base so he pitches out of the stretch
