From the Toronto Star...

on Wednesday it will be announced that Bell and MLSE minority owner Larry Tanenbaum will purchase the Argonauts from David Braley, ending years of ownership instability for the perennially faltering flagship franchise. A lease with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment for BMO Field is also done, per sources, and the team is expected to move there from Rogers Centre for the 2016 season.

So, it looks like the Argos will be gone from the Rogers Centre as soon as next season. I wonder if this means that grass can be installed at the Rogers Centre sooner than the 2018 season (the original promised date).

When Beeston spoke he seemed to put it on the engineers. It seems to have been figured out elsewhere, why can't the Jays find the people to do this for them?

Should we also take this to mean that Tannebaum has a better relationship with BCE than he has with Rogers? Is it those two groups vs Rogers in the MLSE board room?

OMG the board is divided! PANAC!

Or that Rogers didnt want to lose money. Cant imagine the Argos make much, if any, money.

I think Rogers wasn't interested in purchasing the Argos because...

A) The team makes little money at the gate and from merchandising sales.
B) TSN (Bell) holds the broadcast rights for the CFL.
