Hopefully this will be the beginning of the end for AA and Gibbons
Apparently Blair said that the Jays have thought about trading Norris for a reliever to shore up the bullpen like that's the only thing wrong with this team.
How can any real fan actually cheer for wins anymore? An embarrassing sweep would bebe thbest thing for this franchise right now

If the Jays have even talked about trading Norris for a reliever, AA should be fired on the spot. That would be the height of absurdity.

If this trade happens then I quit as a Jays fan.
Jays have lost a few games recently not because of pitching, but because of super bad defense and the unclutch ability to score with men on second and third with no outs.
Not sure how an extra reliever will help unless that reliever is named Mike Trout.

I am predicting a Nat's sweep and Bautista injury on his arm. The injury will occur when the Jays are down big and some may interpret it as Jose giving up.
During this series ColabelLOL will commit at least one OF error that leads to multiple runs and a one run loss. This will happen when either Estrada or Osuna pitching, leading them to throw their hands up in the air in despair and a putrid look of disgust on their face.

I'll never quit being a Jays fan, but if that kind of trade happened I'd probably need a long hiatus. Surely AA can't be that stupid. Then again, we are talking about a guy who traded two stud prospects for a 38-year-old knuckleballer

I've been a fan of this team for almost 30 years. I've been to games at the old Ex.
There have been many periods where this team hasn't been good and I've stuck by it.
But 20+ years of futility, and just plain dumb plays by the team and so on... This rumour of trading Norris would just be the straw that breaks the camels back for me.

Always hard to say whether media speculation is rooted in reality, but if that's true, I'm officially in cheering for losses mode.

I'd like to know where they would get the money to pay any reliever they would get for Norris.

I'd like to know where they would get the money to pay any reliever they would get for Norris. Dumb as such a trade would be, any reliever of decent quality would almost certainly be making some decent coin.

I'd like to know where they would get the money to pay any "arm" they would get for Norris. Dumb as such a trade would be, any reliever of decent quality would almost certainly be making some decent coin, or he'd be on an ending contract which would be pro-rated for two-thirds of the season, and would have no long-term financial implications when he's pitching for the Red Sox or Yankees in 2016.

Okay so not exactly trading Norris for a reliever although its not an unfair inference based on how Blair structured his article. But Blair is clear in his reporting that the Jays have discussed moving Norris to fill a hole.
This weekend only reinforced the idea that adding a top-notch arm to the bullpen should be job No. 1, now that Roberto Osuna has traded in his Superman cape for a 20-year-old rookie’s uniform, but as with the case of adding an outfielder, the Blue Jays are said to have come to an internal realization that to make a significant bullpen move – more than signing an out-of-work free-agent – they will need to trade one of their pitching prospects.
What about Dioner Navarro? The fact is, once he’s back, his switch-hitting bat is more valuable to the Blue Jays than what he’d get on the trade market.
No, the most likely commodity the Blue Jays have to trade and maintain a team capable of taking a run at the playoffs this season is a young arm, and the sense I’m left with is that, internally, the idea of moving Daniel Norris has been discussed – and it becomes more of a topic the longer Tommy John refugee Jeff Hoffman continues to meet the organization’s demands. Hoffman used 52 pitches in five innings Sunday at single-A Dunedin, giving up two hits and striking out three and showed better command of the zone while continuing to be between 94-99 miles per hour on the gun.

Well, Blair says moving Norris is being discussed. Stoets on his site says the same thing.
If Norris is traded, what would we get in return that makes us believe that this isn't a dumb short sighted move?

Its true that Blair did not literally report that the Jays have considered trading Norris for a reliever. But he did say that their priority was a adding a reliever, that this bullpen arm was going to cost a prospect and that Norris {due to the emergence of Hoffman, which makes no sense but that's another issue) was the guy that they wanted to move.
So its not completely ridiculous to say that the Jays{according to Blair atleast) are thinking about moving Norris for a bullpen arm. At worst they're thinking about moving Norris to a fill a hole on a sub .500 team, that in itself is a problem.

So if Sean Reid-Foley continues to meet the organization's expectations, does that make Hoffman expendable? And if Shane Dawson continues to meet the organization's expectations, does that make Reid-Foley expendable? Now I have to hope that the best prospects suck until the trade deadline passes so AA won't trade them to save his stinking job?

While we're at it, why don't the Jays trade all their top prospects for short term rentals? Cuz YOLO... Right?

This is like the opposite of watching the board talk ourselves into winning the Yu Darvish bid and signing Prince Fielder.
