Just for Fun: Where are former Jays, Today?

Post#1 » by North_of_Border » Thu Jun 11, 2015 4:27 am

Where are former Blue Jays today. Just thought it would be interesting to know. Recent Jays would be more interesting, but all would be okay. Try NOT to include Prospects that never made to the Blue Jays. Just players that suited up for the Jays.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sergio Santos: Just Cut by LA, 4.73 ERA. Signed by NYY. Reporting to Triple-A.

Dustin McGowan: Just joined Philly's 40 man roster, in 10 MLB appearances this season, 5.40 ERA 15K, 18 BB.

JA Happ: Having Solid year for Seattle. 3.31 ERA, 49K, 14 BB

Adam Lind: Having Solid year in Milwaukee. Less average, more power, but dealing with back issues still.

Yunel Escobar: now mans 3B in Washington. Batting .328

Henderson Alvarez: having bad year, 6.45 ERA and 0-4 record. While dealing with to Shoulder issues.

Brandon Morrow: Same Story. Dominant..... but always injured

Josh Johnson: was recovering from TJ. Then had Tricep injury. Then Neck injury. Still not pitching

.............. any more?

Vernon Wells was announcing our 2nd round draft pick the other night.

On a board that often generates a lot of discussion and detail, this half-assed list and weak attempt at thread-making really makes me facepalm. C'mon OP some more effort would be nice.

lol.... no no

Its not a half-assed effort. I purposely only named a few so other can join and add names themself. I was starting a discussion where other could contribute. I mean can u imagine if i named EVERY Jay who left. Some of the names other mentioned after are so obvious. I knew them, but i wanted other to participate.

I guess the Jays board is not like that... like the RAPS board.

anyway..... "sorry"? :noway:

I think what people are trying to get at is it's not much of a discussion worthy thread. Thanks to the good old internet, it's not hard for everyone to have knowledge about former jays and how they're doing.

Glenallen Hill is now the manager of the Albuquerque Isotopes. What an awesome result for my first lookup. Lets leave it at that.

Chuck Hartenstein left baseball(as a manager) after the 88'-89 season. There is currently a One Day Sale on some of his memorabilia. For those interested, here is the link http://www.sportsmemorabilia.com/player/Chuck_Hartenstein

Some guys people were very upset to see leave. Look back now, i know its hindsight but AA did an Amazing job. They are all either just passable or huge disappointments to their new teams.

Can You imagine the 2015 Jays with Melky, Rasmus, Jannsen, lawrie, Morrow, Gose, Happ, McGowan, Lind.

Those were KEY guys on last years team. No wonder we sucked.

Even from all the prospects the JAYS gave away in the Marlins, Mets, A's trades.... I think 10 years from now when we look back, the Only guy that really we will miss is Syndergaard. He is a stud.... not to say the rest are all garbage, but they are replaceable.
From what I read was AA wanted to keep Sanchez over Syndergaard. Its only a rumor, but that was a mistake.

Interesting stat on a familiar Blue Jay from not long ago. Eric Thames in South Korea is hitting .350/.464/.783 with 17 homers, striking out just 15% of the time through 46 games. All this at just 28 years of age. He could be a steal for some team to take a gamble on. 37 HR and 112 RBI last season.

He seem's to have really beefed up... looks like Jose Canseco there :o
maybe its all legit.

I wonder what his salary and contract situation is there.

Janssen is effectively done. He has lost another 2 mph off his fastball, and has spent most of the year on the DL. His shoulder is wrecked.

Lind for Estrada was such a head-scratcher, especially when we have Dioner freaking Navarro starting half the games at DH.

Navarro has 55 plate appearances in 14 games so far.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.
