Alright, it's time to head out to New York to face the Yan......wait, NO? Oh. It appears we're doing a home-and-home with the New York Mets. Yeah, that other team that plays baseball in New York City. And what's even worse, we're about to be reminded of the RA Dickey trade tenfold. D'Arnaud just came off the DL, and Noah is the leading pitcher for this series. I can't promise you that you won't be thinking terrible thoughts about Alex Anthopoulos over the course of this series.
Anyways, Kevin's oblique is ready to sneeze all over the competition, and we'll wipe them like a booger. That's right, we're doing booger jokes now. Moving on!

VERSUS...
Game 1 - Monday, June 15th7:10PM EST start time
Mark Buehrle vs. Noah Syndergaard
Game 2 - Tuesday, June 16th7:10PM EST start time
Scott Copeland vs. Matt Harvey
Series shifts to home from here.
Game 3 - Wednesday, June 17th7:07PM EST start time
Drew Hutchison vs. Jon Niese
Game 4 - Thursday, June 18th7:07PM EST start time
RA Dickey vs. Bartolo Colon
So the young Mets talent is gonna work, and it's definitely not gonna be easy. In fact, I celebrated quietly Road Hutch isn't going till Wednesday. What's even more upsetting is that Bartolo Colon pitches in the AL leg of the home-and-home, so we don't get to watch the hilarity that is him batting. Let's win some baseball games, maybe?

Let's say that the BABIP gods descended from upon high tomorrow, and stated that this series had been penciled in as a sweep for the Red Sox...until they witnessed the glorious return of their chosen son Rob Faulds and graced us with three victories. And because they cannot get enough of his golden pipes and inexplicable changes in volume, they will bless us with a 100 win season so long as he calls every remaining game. The playoffs are another matter, however; we're not guaranteed a Series win.
Do you take the deal.

98 more games of rob faulds and i may not even enjoy the playoffs due to PTSD. that's like over a couple thousand more PbP calls that feature long, silent pauses between words as he scrambles to find the appropriate names/baseball-verbiage to complete his sentences. that being said, yes i would do it if i am allowed to mute my tv starting next game and i will cope with the delay of the tv broadcast as hear from the radio team first. otherwise, i will take my chances with the 40 some odd % we're currently given to make the ALDS, with all due respect to the gods.
ps. as per my sources (myself) devlin is calling the next series that buck takes off for vacation, sometime in july. which hopefully means that's the last i'll hear of faulds until i forget to turn off my tv and wake up to curling re-runs.

Seems pretty fitting that Syndergaard would end the streak.

Nope. Have to leave the volume on. Have to memorize his stilted calls. Whether we will all need a Faulds shrine in our domiciles remains to be seen.

I find it crazy that 159 runs separate the Jays from the Phillies for the most and least runs in baseball, while 42% of that total is separating the Jays from Rangers for first to second.

The Jays odds of making the playoffs crossed 50% for the first time in the season, its at 51.2% right now with the division at 26.3 %. Last year before the collapse we were at like 87% for the playoffs and i think the 2nd favorites for the WS.

Pillar suffered a strained oblique earlier this season, after sneezing too hard.

As hot as the Jays are it's still going to sting to seeing Syndergaard and D'Arnaud this series.

We're currently scoring about 1.4 runs more than the MLB average. Last time that happened was...1953? Not the Yankees/Sox offensive juggernauts of the aughts, not the park factor all-stars like the pre-humidor Rockies, not the Big Red Machine (though they were fairly close in '76)...the last team that exceeded the league margin by so much
featured four Hall of Famers in Roy Campanella, Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson and Duke Snider, plus a couple other legendary hitters for good measure.

It would suck if Syndergaard is the one who ends our win streak.
At least Dickey isn't the guy tonight.
