Do we kill player's Stock by Promoting him?

For example, Boyd was considered a pretty good and likely could have been a key piece in a trade this deadline. However, JAYS promoted him, he was exposed on the big stage, and now he is an after thought. Not saying thats it for him, but he wont get much trade interest any more.

Aaron Sanchez was a cant miss prospect as early as last season. Now he is not a key piece in any deal for what the Jays need this deadline. He's more of a sweetener... untill he proves himself in the MLB

There are many more examples... Osuna and Castro come to mind

If these guys stay in the minors and dominate, they could have pieces teams are drooling over. but now they are role players.

A player's stock is entirely in the eye of the beholder. And any team worth its salt - whether it uses advanced analytics or old-school scouting hunches - has its own views and will have a deeper view of a player's potential than what he shows in one or two starts. Fact is, you have to decide how you intend to build. If you have prospects mainly for the purpose of peddling them for veterans, then showcasing at the major league level certainly has its pitfalls, but if some or most of your best prospects are going to be brought to the major league level as part of a sustainable development program, you do it and damn the consequences.

Also, if a player establishes himself at AA or AAA as a strong candidate, then a game or two in the bigs isn't going to matter, but if he comes up and struggles, then gets sent back to AA or AAA and continues to struggle over a number of weeks, it will likely affect his stock in the short term.

unless Sanchez is off the table to begin with. as well as Stroman.

thats why you don't include them. They are already in the big leagues, controllable and are not tradeable and thus, are not in rumors as PART of the trade.
