Jays interested in Edwin Jackson

The Blue Jays are looking at other ways to build up their rotation depth, and have contacted the representatives for the recently released Edwin Jackson about joining the team on a minor-league deal. Beyond that, there’s always the potential for a waiver deal, although getting something done in August requires some luck.

Would love to acquire him again, especially on a minor league deal. Great insurance policy.

Wouldn't mind the gamble. Didn't have terrible numbers in very limited work this year but otherwise has not been good for the last 4 years or so.

Might as well have kept Felix Doubront.
Both guys are in similar situations. Only Doubront has proven to be a reliable insurance policy. Jackson has not.

Jackson is probably being looked on as a insurance starter who can also do bullpen work if needed. Same as Doubront. Who was traded for cash to Oakland. Odd move, but i guess its not a game changer anyway.
