Poll: Happy or annoyed that Jays have re-captured casual fans again?

Simple poll. Some people are bothered when artists, bands, teams, brands, companies they have been supporting suddenly grow in popularity. They've spent all this time supporting something and suddenly have to share it with noobs who will lose interest as quickly as they found it. The experience can be worse for the more devoted, hard core fan. The newer fans are less knowledgable and may make the live events less enjoyable to be at. Tickets grow in pricing. They're harder to get. It's less exclusive than before.
Others enjoy having the increased hype, exposure, and opportunity to discuss something they're passionate about with more people. What they care about is suddenly more readily discussed and available and they are now among the most passionate and knowledgable of a larger, more mainstream group of people. Their passion seems less niche than before and more justified.
If you had to put yourself in one of those two camps which do you more associate with and why? Are you happier the Jays are gaining in popularity again? Yes or no? Why?
Also, I'll be the first to poke fun at myself with this statement. This kind of thread doesn't happen when the Jays are struggling.

Both. Alot of bandwagon fans that come out of nowhere but I'm glad we acquired the players we did and are going for the playoffs.

Ha ha. I will try to improve the wording so both options seem to have similar merit. I was trying to be impartial but obviously could do more.
EDIT: Hopefully, the new wording helps. Just curious.

Yeah, I didn't think it was intentional, but the framing really only leads to one answer. I don't think anyone is going to state that they'd prefer the Jays to suck in perpetuity...bandwagon fans are a natural consequence thereof, and if we can ever string together a sustained period of success, many will become committed fans.
And if we don't, hopefully we'll get some highly entertaining ones; the early part of 2013 brought with it a whole pile of new posters, a handful of which came armed with an arsenal of scorching hot and entirely illogical takes, like the guy who was convinced that any player could hit the ball wherever they desired, and recording outs was basically an indication that they didn't care enough.

A packed skydome is better than a half empty skydome.

You might be in luck. Price is slated to start that game as of now.

I'm a casual MLB fan, always watch the playoffs though (I love baseball playoffs). I used to follow the jays and try to get back into it, but I need a post season appearance man. The raptors are the only team who could go 22 years without playoffs and I'd still be a hardcore fan.
But I understand how some hardcore followers would be annoyed. If they ever start winning again the whole country will be on the bandwagon though. I personally think it's a good thing, and I hope it happens with the raptors too

I was at a BBQ this weekend in which the two random buddies both had Jays hats on, and baseball came up 3 or 4 times. No one else there could name any of the prospects other than Norris that were traded away ie, all are pretty casual fans. I thought it was great, I think I brought up baseball in May at one of these and it was basically crickets.

I am like many of the casual fans.
I was a die hard baseball/jays fan in the late 80's and early 90's. And then again in the early 2000's when Doc was here. I went to games here and there since. What has kept me from being a committed fan since the 90's was the lack of hope. These moves are some of the biggest we have seen in a long time, and has peaked my interest again, it has given me a glimmer of hope, though I am some what guarded because of past experience but if the Jays become relevant again. Just like the Raptors finally making it to the playoffs the past 2 years and with it a lot of bandwagoners and casuals, it is ONLY a good thing, more money to the team, amazing crowds at the games, you can FEEL the energy in the city. Anyone who was around for the back to backs would love to recapture that feeling again, I mean for so many of us, it is most likely the first and last championship Toronto will have in a major sport in our lifetimes (Im 33

)

Toronto is generally this type of market. Even among leafs, there are a lot of bandwagon jumping, toronto living sports fans. Its a winners market.

Seeing the dome packed is incredible. This forum might get a little more annoying, but the more fans the better.

Casual fans were right. Trade the farm and spend $$$ and the Jays could compete.

Lineup for the game just this past Saturday was ridiculous. But it's much more fun with a packed stadium then an empty one. And I think it's cool being the one guy in the section that knows what he's talking about and everyone around me is listening lol.
