TORONTO (AP) — The ownership of the Toronto Blue Jays says it would "love" to keep general manager Alex Anthopoulos and has been in discussions about extending his contract.
http://bigstory.ap.org/article/be0537e64e7044c1a4acefbb42916470/jays-ownership-would-love-keep-general-managerRosenthal speculates that AA will stay, and that on the baseball side, Shapiro's main concern won't be about the people or their decisions but about adding more structure to the management/administration, and that AA would not only agree, he'd welcome it.

Great decision by Rogers, even though they didn't have much of a choice. After the recent success, the ball was in AA's court. Good to hear that he prefers to return. He's up for a big pay day.

If Travis didn't get injured, he could have potentially traded for the MVP and ROY in the same offseason.

I bet AA will stay with an extension as GM. Being president probably wasn't that much of a priority for him at this point of his career. He's only 38.
In all honesty, "when" Montreal gets their baseball team back, which could be a while but I'm going to bet that AA will be the first to jump ship and become Montreal's president. That's his dream job (and he even admitted that when John Farrell left that he would have done the same if there was a team in Montreal).
