Yankees trying to block Jays from getting David Robertson?

I have a hard time imagining the Jays were going to swallow a lot of salary here, and Robertson is doing well, so he can likely be offloaded later by the Sox without eating a large amount of downstream money.
Seems like NYY a bit paranoid.

Honestly, I can't blame NY. They're one Blue Jays losing streak away from winning the division with probably their weakest overall roster in a couple of decades. Why not pull out all the stops to steal a division title?

Could you imagine this bullpen + David Robertson? We'd only need our starters to go twice through the order in the playoffs then it would be shutdown time.

Waiver claims go by reverse order of standings, but at what date? Were the Yankees ahead of us in the claim order when DR was put on waivers?
