NFL fans, how are you going to handle Jays games on Sundays?

Post#1 » by Rbk_3 » Wed Sep 9, 2015 3:30 pm

This is a predicament I have never had to deal with. I am a hardcore Rams fan, as well as Jays fan. Just my luck, they play the first 4 weeks at the same damn time.

September 13th
Jays/Yankees 1pm
Rams/Seahawks 1pm

September 20th
Jays/Red Sox 1pm
Rams/Redskins 1pm

September 27th
Jays/Rays 1pm
Rams/Steelers 1pm

October 4th
Jays/Rays 3:10
Rams/Cardinals 4:25

What do I do!!?

Have one game on the TV and the other on the laptop. Both football and baseball have a lot of downtime so you can easily go back and forth and not miss too much.

I'm more of a Colts and Alabama fan than a Jays fan and even a Raps fan so NFL and NCAA come first to me.

Yeah, I can usually watch 2-3 NFL games at once. Watching a Jays game and one NFL game should not be an issue.

If you have a PVR you tape both of them so that you can rewind if you flip back and have just missed something.

Pretty cool to see a college football fan around these parts. This years playoffs are going to be good. I got OSU, Bama, TCU, and Michican State in the playoff. Who do you got?

2a. Jays
2b. Leafs
3. Raptors

I like the Rams this year. I'm pretty terrible at predicting football but I've always liked Jeff Fisher as a coach, he's a smart dude. I think the trade will help you.

Plus SF will take a step back this year for sure. Seattle will either flame out or use the past SB as motivation. Arizona will be good, although they still have question marks. Rams might have a shot this year.

Just watch the 4th quarter of the NFL game. That's all that really matters in most of those anyway.

I get a lot of flak on the NCAA board for being so pro- SEC but I'd puke if 2 Big 10 teams got in lol.

When I was back in High School, (5 years ago) one of my teachers would say Sunday was the worst day of the week because she couldn't get her husband to do anything. She said he even skipped weddings to watch football.

I'm really pro SEC as well. They have a bunch of teams (believe its a record) in the top 25 after the first week. However. I just think there is so much talent on Michigan State with Cook and Calhoun for them not to make it, while OSU making it is a given.

Unless Foles shows himself to be a decent QB (with a horrible OLine), then you might not have to worry for too long...

Seriously though I am not sure how I am going to function. I don't think I have watched September baseball this hardcore in my whole life. I still remember 92 and 93 but I was like 6 years old and I am sure I wasn't staying up till 10-11pm to watch every game.

my work productive is already terrible with the Blue Jays, add in the Vikings season starting and I am not sure I will get anything done anywhere.

I wouldn't say it for the NHL (as a goal or two in the 1st could make all the difference), but the NBA, yeah, I'd agree. Most teams don't give anything close to 100% in regular season NBA games until the 4th.

Jays come first all day everyday, despite me having mlb.com and being able to replay games. NFL weeks 1-4 can wait.

You can easily flip flop during downtimes of either games.
