Falling in Love with a roster after Success

The jays dont need to win the World Series to consider this season a success. I think just making the plaoffs is enough to put the stamp of approval.... Its been 22 years, expectations are just that.
So what do most teams with proven stars on the roster do after experiencing some success? .... They lock up all their proven stars.
The Jays already have Tulo and Martin locked up. We'll see how that looks 2-3 years from now... they might lock up EE, Bautista and at least think of David Price. All these guys are in their prime but also on the wrong side of 30.
An example i would use is the Phillies. They had a star roster and went through some success. As a result they locked up everyone.... Then everyone started to regress and the Phillies were a mess. No farm, over paid vets and well passed their window to compete.... Another example is Detroit, who just entering that phase.
This might seem like a laugher, but if you look at it logically, if the Jays lock everyone up. Its a reality that will happen. We dont wanna go the Billy Beane way, but we should avoid the Amaro way too.
All im saying is, you cant fall in love with your roster. After this season, i hope the Jays make some serious decisions on who to keep.... But also who to let go.
