Yankees have the Mets this weekend, wouldn't be crazy to think that the magic number is 9 or 10 by the time they roll into town on Monday.

When was the last time the Jays saw 2 LHPs in a series? Wow. Goins probably looks human again but a good opportunity for Bautista and Donaldson to get going again. And Porcello, the only RHP, is pretty bad. Hopefully the bats can feast. Would be nice for the Jays to be up 4.5 on the Yankees before the next meeting with them.

Last homestand of the season. Predictions for the 9-game record?

He's been great since he's come back from injury (including a start where he dominated this offense last week). That will be a tough one. And the way that the Boston offense is going, they may all be.

Yup and the Red Sox aren't playing like a last-placed team at the moment. Again I'd be more than happy with 2/3.

I find the first two pictures uncomforting. The last time I had that feeling about a game thread, we got swept.

After winning the Atlanta series, the Jays are not .500 on the road. Good achievement.
Magic number: 14!

Baseball is probably the sport with the most advantage playing home field because each field layout is different as oppose to other sports (i.e., NYY loading up on lefty hitters in a short right field wall, Jays with the great offense in hitters' ballpark, etc.) Winning the AL will secure homefield advantage for the entire postseason, that is the goal now.

Don't feel particularly good about any game this series. Dickey and Buerhle always seem to struggle against Boston, and this is only Stroman's second game back. At least the games aren't at Fenway. I'd be pleased with 2/3.

Boston playing some serious baseball right now, 2/3 would be extremely great kind of expecting 1/3 though. All depends on how today goes.
Big subway series today also to keep an eye on. With them playing Sunday night and then having to come to Toronto late on sunday, could be a good start for Price on Monday as well.

Sunday, September 16, 7:10 PM EDT

I'd put the hand the pitchers use. First time we've faced two lefties in a while.

My dad's a Mets fan and promised me two wins at least. He's usually good for it.

Ryan Goins with a .656 OPS for the month of September. Some people are calling it a slump but he's actually on pace for the 3rd best month of his career.
Personally I have no issues with a Goins who can put up .650 for a full season.
