If we end up losing the wildcard game?

Post#1 » by RalphWiggum » Sun Sep 27, 2015 7:49 am

As an older guy on this board that lived through the 87 collapse I'm just curious how most would handle the wildcard game and then losing? For those around my age how would losing a one game playoff compare to blowing that 87 lead.

This is a designed anti jinx thread but also a morbidly curious what would your feelings be worst case scenario?

Could you recover or would you just check out after the jays failed to make the ALDS?

I've been a long time fan since around 82 as a young teen. So I've been with this team through a lot of ups and downs. Them losing the WC game won't change that.

But it would certainly be disappointing given the tremendous price paid in prospects this year. But hey, its been a fantastic ride so far and I'm just gonna enjoy it to whatever end it is.

If the Jays are in the Wild Card game that means they have already collapsed.

calm down debbie downer- this is the most dominant team in baseball right now on pace for the AL Banner- and you're talking about losing in wild card games

Even if that happens, I'll just be happy they made it that far, as it felt like that day would never come.

I remember the 1987 collapse- and I see how The Tampa Bay Rays are like the Milwaukee Brewers of old, in that they give us fits even if we are vastly superior, but do note: The Yankees are not going to win out either. We are going to win 3 more games this year, and the Yankees are going to loose at least once more, probably 2 more times, so it is done. That is to say: The Jays are winning the AL East this year

I hope you all blow yourselves up in negativity if the Jays lose the wildcard game.

This must be some hidden brag that you lived through an epic collapse. Get over it... it has nothing to do with 2015?

I'm 26 so when the jays won back2back I was 4 and 5 years old aka I barely knew what was happening.

I've been waiting my whole life to see the jays in the playoffs and make a deep run.

I would be devastated, the city would be devastated.

I've been a pessimistic Jays fan for years but the time to believe this team can win it all is now.

I was quite drunk when I started this thread. My apologies for starting such a horrible pointless thread.

I've hooked a breathalyser up to my keyboard to prevent further disasters like this from occurring.
