Reasons for some of my bolder picks:

- Yankees are particularly bad against lefties, and even though Keuchel is notoriously not-as-good on the road, he can still give the Yanks a lot of trouble, and I think he will.
- It's understated how unbelievably good the Dodgers pitching staff is. Greinke is in another world, and I think this is the year Kershaw figures out his playoff woes. Mets benefit just a little bit from playing the Phillies, Braves and trainwreck Nats all the time. They have the potential to be found out as an overachieving team.
- Arrieta will take the Cubs over the Pirates. He's just too dominant right now.
- Jays have handled the Royals pretty well this year, competitive series and we played them once with our pre-ASB team and once post-ASB. We won 3 of 4 with the revamped Jays, losing an anomaly-type game in which we were bad on defense and Zobrist went god-mode.

ALCS prediction: Jays vs Astros, Price on the mound in the 9th inning of game 7 with Dioner behind the plate, Jed Lowrie grounds out to second base to end it. Wouldn't be the first time.

The media guys have all been saying over and over that anything is possible in the MLB playoffs, and losing in any round is not a true indication of how good a team truly is. I think they have a good point. Picking the underdogs is probably the safer bet.

I love this team more than any Toronto team in recent memory (and I'm old enough to have really enjoyed the back-to-back Jays,) but my predictions are:
