KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Brett Cecil, who cried in the clubhouse when he was told his season was over six days ago after he tore his calf muscle during a rundown, has made an improbable recovery and now says he could be ready to return to the Blue Jays if they make it past the Kansas City Royals in the ALCS.

“Everything feels good,” Cecil said. “The way things look now, I’ll be ready for the World Series.

Can you imagine if he made major progress and was back later in this series (ALCS)?? Game 6 or 7. That would be pretty crazy.

Yep. But I think that wouldn't be allowed by MLB even if Cecil was healthy. Players on the postseason DL are required to miss two series (including the series they were injured in). So the earliest Cecil could come back would be in the WS.

Would be insane if he could come back that quickly. I sure hope he will.

Oh lordy. If we make too many miraculous recoveries the testers might come knocking more often.

Pretty crazy recovery. Maybe the tear wasn't as major as they believed? Tears happen all the time to the muscles, but I've never heard of someone healing so quickly from a major tear.

Well, technically speaking, a strain is considered a tear. It's not like the entire muscle ripped in half. "Calf strain" would probably not have the average fan as worried about him. If he's already playing catch and thinks he'll be back a little over a week, it might not be that bad. Would definitely be nice to get him back in there.

I'm kind of not surprised. Just the way it happened, was a pretty routine play.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.
