Kevin Pillar

Post#1 » by lobosloboslobos » Fri Oct 16, 2015 11:04 pm

Can we just take a moment to appreciate that we may unexpectedly have the best centre fielder in the game? And I don't mean only defensive centre fielder, I mean all around? He hit .278 as a rookie (maybe not technically a rookie but he had 212 total at bats before this year so yeah, if not a rookie then close to it.) And that's not with huge power but some power anyway, 12 homers and 56 RBIs while delivering xtreme gold glove defense, stealing 25 bases and hitting (so far) .333 in the playoffs.

Dude's making 500k this year. smh

no no no no no no no no

mookie betts is better. lorenzo cain is better. ANDREW MCCUTCHEN IS BETTER.

MIKE **** TROUT, ARGUABLY THE BEST PLAYER IN ALL OF BASEBALL AND A GENERATIONAL TALENT, IS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also please stop using raw average to measure hitters. kevin pillar's wRC+ this season barely puts him in the top 20 of all CF's in baseball offensively.

we got a much needed unexpected good season from pillar but to call him the best CF in the game is blasphemy.

can a mod just take a moment to lock up this ridiculous thread. embarrassing.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Yeah, I think I'd take Trout over him.

Better center fielders:
Lorenzo Cain, Kevin Kiermaier, Mookie Betts, Mike Trout, Andrew McCutchen

That being said, Pillar is one of the better center fielders in the game.

It's close, but I also have to lean toward the guy who is a lock for the Hall of Fame at age 24.
