I still can't believe it's OVER..
I am still pretty torn, last night I drank like some girl left me for another guy. I am usually not much of a drinker, but I poured that anti depressant liquid down my throat like it was water.
Just want to say, it was a fun ride with you bangers, and I really can't wait to do it again next season. I enjoyed talking with you guys, and I feel like all of us in this forum actually came together and made this place rock.
Also, I want to give a shout out to schad, guy is always on his game and to:
Bruno
Leafs rule aka Jays rule
Rhett
Indiana jones
Boogie
Big Pops
Ninja
The doctor
Zilby
Regulator
James Raptor
Randle mcMurphy
Kaylie
Ralph Wiggum
Wolverine
Thanks for making this season awesome,
It's been a hell a ride, I am still emotionally not stable right now and any blue Jays highlight will put me over the edge. But hey, I am damn proud of the boys, it's not the way we wanted the season to end, but at least we still have this forum, and each other.
And if I missed anyone, I'm sorry, everyone here has a special place in my heart.
Blue Jays in 6 next season, we winning the World Series.

Thanks for the shout out. I know your pain. After a good sleep, I feel a bit better. So close to the WS!
Anyway, I want to take this opportunity to apologize to the mods and other posters for my constant negativity throughout the post-season. These games make me a wreck, and I need to learn to control my anger. I guess it's been pent up for a while. Amidst all the years of losing, it's nice to actually have a team worth watching. As much as I want to win, I realize it can always be worse.
I often post nothing but emotional garbage and argue for the sake of arguing. I'm working on it.
Go Jays!

Re: I still can't believe it's OVER..
I was a young kid and living in Indiana in 93 so this was probably the best sports run I've ever witnessed by a team I cheer for. As a Colts fan 2006 and beating Brady and the Pats in the AFC was very special, but felt different because I wasn't living in the region at the time.
The buzz around here since August has truly been amazing . Its something most of have never experienced.

I remember when the Roenick's goal that shattered the heart of the Leafs nation,
I remember the Raptors...looking straight into the mirror,
Last night, it was heartbreaking, but I'm very happy at the same time because,
the Jays is finally a powerhouse,
it's been awhile since the last Toronto team that advances,
for that fam, I'm very excited going into next year. This team has another 4 years window and legitimate shot at the WS title.
Go Jays go, remember the glory fam, the bat flip! Super Sayian clutch moments! Stir the damn pot! Lil B luck! The TURF talk, Taylor Swift curse, etc. Everything that we been through, seems so surreal now.
Thanks again for the contribution of the RealGm family, S/0 to the warm hospitality from Joshgc. Fun first year as a newly bandwagon fan, I love to contribute the graphics and And'1s, these two things are why I'm here, that's what I do, go RealGm go!

It was an amazing run, best season as a Jays fan. Learned so much reading all of your analysis, hopefully we can invest in some pitching and keep the core.

Re: I still can't believe it's OVER..
P.s. **** that Amish **** who interfered with the ball. From here on out home fans should blatantly interfere with HR balls and put it in the umpires hands to decide. I can't help but think if that happened in the mets cubs game and the cubs lost on that play rightly or wrong ly there would be tonnes more discussion than we are seeing with the KC fan.

Re: I still can't believe it's OVER..
I cannot believe it is over as well. I cannot believe how this team failed with Runners in Scoring Position the entire series, and failed to bring in a single run with a man on Third Base and nobody out to tie the game in the 9th. Everyone saying next year we will be back, but it is no guarantee. 2015 was their year to go to the World Series, and they simply did not get the job done. Who knows how long it will be for this team to get into the same stage again. This team was healthy for once, and that is no guarantee from year to year. Next year- Boston will be much better and the Yankees will reload again. The AL East will be up for grabs. Price will be a Chicago Cub (pretty much a done deal from what i read since his girlfriend wants to live in Chicago; and he wants to play with his former manager who he loves, and good friend Jake Arrieta).
This team's rotation and bullpen will have serious question marks. Hutch was terrible this year, and Dickey is inconsistent. With no David Price, i am hoping Rogers bumps into payroll to 150 M to give AA the resources to address the key holes needed to be addressed. This was a great opportunity to go to the World Series, and it still stings how this great offense became so terrible in crucial moments in this series. In terms of payroll, the Mets are paying Syndergaard and D'arnaud a combined 1 M dollars, while Russell Martin and Dickey (will make a combined 27 M) next year. All this talk of trading EE or Jose Bautista because of payroll restrictions is ridiculous. I would look into trading Martin and declining Dickey's option, so EE or Bautista do not have to be sacrificed because of Payroll.
There are no Daniel Norris or Jeff Hoffman, or other stud prospects to count on for next year. So, the onus should be on Rogers to add to its payroll, and not decrease it. Rogers made plenty of money this year and they need to show the fanbase once again that they will be going for it again in 2016. Bittersweet feeling waking up today, since i honestly do believe that the Jays were a better team on paper than the Royals and Mets. However, the Cecil injury hurt a lot. With a healthy Brett Cecil, maybe the Jays can hang on in Game 2. Also, with a healthy Cecil, you would not had to use Osuna and Sanchez that much, leaving them more fresh for yesterday. However, we can always say "What If" but the reality is the Royals deserved to go to the World Series. A superb team. It was nice chatting with everyone on this forum. Have a wonderful rest of 2015. This loss will sting for a bit, since i honestly thought the Jays would be going to the World Series and winning it. Luck and the Baseball Gods were not with us. Sucks since this city and country would have been rocking from coast to coast next week.

Yep. It would be a big mistake to expect the stars to align for us like this all over again next year or any time soon. The farm is bare and we can't spend like other teams. Meanwhile, sleeping giants Boston and New York will reload and we're back to square one.

Re: I still can't believe it's OVER..
Man, I woke up this morning depressed as hell. But reading this thread definitely helped uplift my spirits a little bit. Thanks to everybody for contributing on this board. It was great reading it this season. I'd make a list of shout outs, but joshgc and Bruno pretty much nailed it with their lists. All those guys they brought up are on my list too.
Right now, it still hurts and I can't get that ninth inning and that Amish guy out of my head. But eventually, we'll look back at 2015 and remember this team as the best offensive team and one of the most complete teams in franchise, no, Toronto sports history.
Three 40 HR/100 RBI guys. An all-star catcher and shortstop. The emergence of Pillar and Colabello. The contributions of Goins, Smoak and Revere. Then on the pitching side, we had the emergence of Estrada. Buehrle and Dickey having mostly reliable seasons despite being in the twilight of their careers. We got a brief glimpse of a true ace in Price, who was our first ace since Doc. We saw one of the greatest comeback stories in a long while when Stroman came back in September and pitched like a man possessed. A 20-year old kid became our closer. Cecil didn't give up a run in nearly three months. Sanchez looked like an elite reliever for the most part. So many players had great years at once, and you don't often see that in baseball.
Whoever came up with #ComeTogether nailed it on the head, because this team really came together like very few teams ever do. Shame that they couldn't go all the way, but hey, "there's always next year". And for the first time ever as a Toronto sports fan, I feel like I can say that phrase with positivity and hope, rather than bitterness and sarcasm. I can't wait for spring training. We'll be bringing back the best lineup in baseball next season. If we can shore up the pitching, then I have no doubt that we'll be right back in the ALCS at this time next year.
See you guys. And once again, thanks for everything. Go Jays!

I was pretty pissed last night, I'm not going to sugar coat it. But when I think of the big picture and where my mind was at last off-season and leading into spring training, it's hard not to feel some amount of satisfaction with the ride. Sure, you never want it to end. But to go 50-51 to 2 games away from the World Series is one hell of a turnaround. Now we need to keep the momentum going! Next year the goal is the WORLD SERIES baby!

It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster ride for me. I feel like the guys deserved better than this. For a lot of them they might never see the playoffs again. And that's sad. I truly fell in love with this team and felt they were destined to go all the way. True heartbreak to see them go home before their time. At the very least i hope to see the core back next year.

203 games, counting spring training, split squad stuff, the regular season and the playoffs. That's a lot of baseball.

Re: I still can't believe it's OVER..
I just wanted the season to keep going. For the past few weeks I wasn't even thinking about a championship anymore, watching these guys play meaningful games and get this deep into the playoffs was more like a habit for the last 2 months. Being in the thick of a playoff run, even when we were down 0-2 in a series or whatever, it felt like this team always found a way to extend the season by just one more game, every time. I could have watched another 6 months of this team and it would have been still exciting every game.
Shambling my attention back to the Raptors and Leafs is after this is going to be a big comedown after this high. I wish Toronto teams could go deep into the playoffs more often, because I really could get used to it.

Still hard to think about the loss today.. I thought surely after getting Pompey and Pillar in scoring position with no one out, we would've capitalized and at least scored one to tie it up. All we needed was a sac fly and we would've been back in it. But hey, can't keep thinking about all the "what if's" or else we'd all go crazy.
I'm proud of what the team was able to accomplish this year and we didn't give up even until the final out. So happy for Jose, he showed how big of the clutch player he is with his coming out party this October, and I hope he has many more opportunities to do that in the next few years. One of the goat Blue Jays in my books.
As for S/Os, basically if you've gotten an And1 from me, which is a lot of you, then I like your stuff. Keep doing you, I enjoy reading all the jokes, analysis, and enthusiasm that you guys have. It was a great ride this year, and I look forward to repeating this next year with all of you. I'm in a timeshare with a few friends next year for season tickets, so I'll be going to about 40 or so games. Can't wait!
All of you in the RealGM Jays board are...

Btw, check out this video, sums up the year quite nicely, brace yourselves for the ocean of feels though

It's only been 1 day and I am ready to hit the FF button. Can't wait until next year, everyone healthy, fresh start for Tulo, and the new additions. Hopefully it's a productive offseason.

Thanks for the shout outs. The loss still stings man, but starting to get over it. This forum is great because it's a therapeutic outlet. Going to be hard to replicate this seasons success. AL East will be strong. The taste of success leaves all if us wanting more. Especially when we have been deprived for many years. I'm a big raptors fan, but still can't bring myself to getting excited for the start of the NBA season.
Hang in there guys. We will get through this and if we do end up winning eventually, it will be extra sweet.

Thanks for the shoutout fam and for everyone in the game threads that made this season so enjoyable. This was a great year and I can't wait until spring training. I'm getting the same feelings again like I did so many years ago when I couldn't wait for opening day grabbing tickets with my brother. Here's to another great season.

Tanknation is Tank for the top pick right, Thanknation is Thank you for the top pick. It's a term coined by CoachJReturns.
