Hanson had been in a coma, according to multiple reports.
A source told WSB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Atlanta, that Hanson had trouble breathing early Sunday morning and was taken to a hospital. He suffered catastrophic organ failure, multiple sources told the TV station.
Hanson was selected by the Braves in the 22nd round of the 2005 draft and was once considered the top prospect in the organization.

He was my favorite non-Blue Jays pitcher at one point,

farewell fam

Wow, I'm really sad to hear that. 29 is way too early to go. I still remember his amazing rookie season like it was yesterday.
RIP Mr. Hanson.

Yeah fam I felt in love with his repertoire when he first came into the big league,
equipped with a great combination of nasty slider and wicked curveball at the same arm throwing motion
Man this pitch is goat

sad he fell apart after.

Yeah, he just fell off so suddenly. I thought for sure he was gonna lead the Braves' rotation for years to come. It just goes to show how hard baseball is to play. You have to work like hell to make it. And once you do, you have to work like hell to stay there. Otherwise the league will figure you out and push you aside in a second. Look what happened to Ricky Romero.

Injuries derailed his promising career, but at least he got to live out his dream of playing in the majors

By some ATL accounts, it sounds like Nose Candy derailed his career and subsequently cost him his life...

But still, sad to see someone young and talented go out at an early age.
