According to Jon Morosi, the Blue Jays are showing interest in Corey Luebke, who last pitched in the majors in 2012.

By no means am I saying that signing Price would have been smart/logical, however there's gotta be some sort of middle ground - going after the likes of Chavez, Luebke and Happ (who's a decent 5), makes for a very underwhelming offseason.
It's just so disheartening after waiting 20 years for a competitive/playoff team, and Rogers takes the high road and doesn't look to improve the team, but to scrape the bottom of the bargain bin.

It will never cease to be hysterically funny that people rend their garments because we have the audacity to actually field a AAA team. Why, if Rogers really cared, we wouldn't waste a dime on having a farm system!

You just know that with every minor league deal rumour these guys are going to come out and somehow associate it with the Jays not actively trying to win. AA got the same treatment before July so I suppose we're back to normal. It was a fun two months.

Lord forbid, we actually add a promising piece to a team that is set to have 2 of our most significant, yet aging pieces become free agents after this season. You guys can harp all you want on my opinion of being underwhelmed by Rogers on field/head office moves to this point, but I'm not going to pretend to be optimistic about a team that showed their first glimmer of hope in 20 years. I'm not a fly by night fan, and therefore refuse to pretend to be overly optimistic about their off season moves to date, and/or what their intentions suggest for the future... If the playoffs showed us anything it's that this team is at least a significant starting pitcher and a couple significant bullpen arms away from being considered a serious world series contender.

You're missing the point entirely. With every single minor rumour is going to come an update on this board and every time there are going to be moans about how underwhelming the offseason has been. The golden boy was the king of dumpster diving and before he was crowned king in July, there were endless complaints about him and his penchant for the scrap heap. Literally every single GM on every team will sign AAA players. There doesn't need to be an entire comment thread dedicated to how this particular move signals that the Jays will do nothing but these kinds of moves.
Hell, we had the most active GM in the league make more blockbuster trades in his 6 years than anyone else and people still complained about his **** waiver wire and scrap heap dealings. Now that the shine has worn off the 2015 season, we're right back where we started where everyone complains about roster moves that have literally zero impact on the major league team. How anyone can take anything greater than a "welp, carrying on" attitude about what will likely amount to nothing more than minor league fodder is beyond me.
Please, go ahead and start a mega-thread about Shapiro and Rogers and their galactic empire-like plan to ruin the Blue Jays, but please spare us the drama on a thread about Corey **** Luebke.

The fact that you're harping over the possible signing of one minor league player, when 80-85% of the players currently under contract by the Jays play primarily in the minor leagues, only shows how clueless and off the mark whining over this particular player is.
And yes it sucks that rogers didn't inflate the budget and we don't have Price coming back but we're still heading into 2016 with a much stronger roster than the one that started the 2015 season. Believe it or not.

You guys are exhausting... Refer to my previous post to see that my frustration isn't about Luebke. I completely agree that this team is stronger than the team that started last season, however the team pre-deadline trades was .500 so that's not saying much. We still have a big hole in our starting rotation and at least couple big holes in our bullpen, not to mention that 2 of our top 4 offensive players are free agents at the end of the season, and I think it's safe to say Rogers won't be opening up the purse strings to resign both.

Showing interest in Corey Luebke over Mike Leake? Dammit Shapiro. Go back to Cleveland with this dumpster diving moneyball **** already.
I don't appreciate the personal attacks when stating my opinion about the Blue Jays on the Blue Jays forum... I assure you that I understand all facets of baseball as well if not better than you, so you can save your elitist condescending attitude for somebody else bud.
