Tulo with new leg kick?

Spring Training is the time for tinkering, adjustments and experimentation. If a player is going to introduce a new batting stance or work on a new secondary pitch, now would be the time to do it.

One such case is Troy Tulowitzki, who appears to be sporting a slightly different batting stance in 2016. Most notably, it looks like he’s added a leg kick to his swing; something which Tulo’s teammates in Jose Bautista and Josh Donaldson have used with great success.

Over the weekend, there was an Instagram video posted by the “Stance Doctor” which featured a much different pre-swing routine by Troy Tulowitzki. It may be hard to pick up, but only once you compare Tulowitzki’s old swing to his new one do you really notice the difference.

I think Tulo will have a good year if he stays health. That leg kick hopefully gives his bat more pop.

A leg kick that is not part of a natural jumpshot is an offensive foul

I gotta be honest i dont

Lost interest in jays in like 1995?
Followed braves till chipper was gone
Havent gave a **** at all till the jays run
Im thinking the wheels will fall off based on the amount of bull in the teams comments last few months
Then i can just quit the whole sport, im pissed about the hall of fame morality patril anyway
The whole time i cared (80s 90s early 2000s) almost doesnt matter anymore
So again i say 'who cares'

Now that this has been migrated to spring training....

I think his right arm angle is much different too, maybe he is dropping his hands lower. Both pitches seem belt high.

I would say don't mess with success but I think Tulo is probably disappointed in how last season ended, and wants to re evaluate stuff. Was curious if he had been consistent with the toe tap, and he has for the most part. It was probably getting a little more pronounced over the years/

Found this awesome video of his first MLB hit...thanks to a miss play by Jose Reyes! How perfect is that?

My first impression of seeing him play after the trade was how his swing didn't provide a lot of momentum going forward. He's a big long guy, so a bigger kick might lead to more power. Can't wait to see results.

I can't wait to see the 2017 Toronto Leg-Kickers, with leg-kicking power bat Ryan Goins hitting cleanup.

He's clearly trying to break the team record for homers in March to avoid hitting lead off.
