He's better then Zeke, so I'm in for this type of signing. He can actually play some CF.
That's what she said.

Re: Blue Jays sign outfielder Michael Bourn to minor-league deal
I think the master plan is to replace our front office and roster with those of the Clevelander's. Do not want.
Bourn has a career OBP of .331, which has tailed off to the very mediocre .300 level the last couple years. He's not a leadoff hitter anymore, and really not much of a hitter period. I'd rather just bring up Ceciliani to be the 4th outfielder, which they should have done to start the year. Ceciliani is 26 - he doesn't need a full-time job at this point.

Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

We already have a speedy slap hitting CF to be a prototypical leadoff man, and as we saw, that wasn't exactly a bright idea. It's not 1985 anymore. If Bourn leads off a single game this year I will look forward to the day that Eric Wedge takes over in the dugout.

Re: Blue Jays sign outfielder Michael Bourn to minor-league deal
So now if we sign anyone that has ever played for the Indians at any point in their career people are going to criticize it?
I can understand not liking the signing, but who he played for before doesn't matter. I guess people just need to find a reason to hate everything.

Doesn't get any worse than Pillar there.

It's a minor league depth signing. There's really nothing to criticize here.

Haha. At least that's only temporary due to Saunders' injury.

Player, no. I think most are joking around. Front office, yes. Certainly raises questions of whether these are patronage or merit hires.

Not everything. Just bad players. And hate is too strong a word. I just don't want Bourn playing any meaningful role for this team. He's done.

Do you really believe that signing Bourn may have been a patronage signing? It's a minor deal for a player that was once highly regarded. There's virtually zero risk here with the likelihood that he never sees another MLB at bat ever again.
As it is, if our management doesn't use their knowledge of players gained from working in another organization then they're simply not using all the resources available to do their jobs properly. Not to mention that these people generally did an excellent job of assessing talent at their previous gig.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

They should have erased their memories when clearing customs.
